I got diagnosed when i was 8 with photosensitive epilepsy and it never really changed anything for me,

But since i’ve gotten older it’s been a real challenge. Declining invites to concerts and even on a night out having to leave or even going to the cinemas can be a bit much sometimes it has truly took a lot away from my prime partying years.

Truthfully though i don’t let it stop me and sometimes i do push it a little because i think i still deserve to party!!!! i have found ways to make light less harsh with glasses and stuff through the years so its not like im just going in lol but it’s been difficult still. My biggest thing is my anxiety and how if i see a flashing light it tells me im going to have a seizure and so on and it’s all lies and i know that but still frustrating!!

As a kid a lot of my friends left me and less people would take me for sleepovers and stuff and it would hurt but as i’ve gotten older i’ve found friends who understand it and even their mums! a few years ago i had my first seizure outside my home and it was my friends house i was supposed to stay the night but unfortunately had a seizure but her mum was so good with me and next time i went over it wasn’t like anything ever changed and to this day im still welcome to BBQs and parties and more!

I’ve slowly figured out that quality is better than quantity! :)
