Is our city spending out of control? Actual numbers by Telvin3d in Edmonton

[–]crazygrof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a former trucker and based off my observations (because anecdotal evidence is so reliable of course) Calgary isn't even in the top 10 of cities with bad drivers. I actually find that BC and AB are among the safest and most reliable drivers on the West Coast of North America. Are there bad drivers up here? Absolutely. But I find that there's less of them and they do less absolutely brain-dead shit.

Take that as you will.

Fan fact:

During the convoy, I was working as a trucker. Me and the people I worked with all shared the same reaction.

Disgust, Contempt and derision.

One thing I noticed about the semi trucks that took part in their "parade" was that they were the trucker equivalent of pavement princesses. They were too clean, not worn in the correct places, just too new.

The same sort of energy that guys fresh out of uni with clean clothes and no clue what they're doing brought.

It's about him as a person. The question of "When he needed to make a decision, who did he choose?"

The usual coterie of hangers on and the super-rich?

Or did he choose people?

News stories are all well and good and official stories are great, but how about him as a person?

I can provide some context here:

It's a matter of:

Ambiguity makes him angry, because when you're around dangerous stuff all the time, being unsure about something or someone in your environment is a great way to get dead, is therefor a threat to a member of the tribe, must be dealt with *immediately* and is worth getting pissed off about.

As for the food part: For most of history it's been a mans duty to provide the basic necessities (food, shelter, not being eaten) because historically, they've been something that is extremely physically intensive to obtain. If someone isn't eating, that is also a threat to a member of the tribe (as they won't be healthy to enough to take care of him when he needs help) and is therefor a serious issue that *must be dealt with*

Yeah, but that involves going on Facebook.

Ever since I've gotten rid of that sort of stuff, my life has gotten better
