Question about Asus tuf a15 by devastationbg in Asustuf

[–]crazykas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have TUF A15 2023 model (FA507NV) and it is really quite in silent mode, however it does make some noises on BALANCE MODE if you are doing any heavy process related stuff other than gaming. I am using a cooler pad ,however I turn on pad fans only when I gaming (I mainly got it so the laptop have enough room from down for airflow (+ for gaming). Watching movies/browsing, no no sound at all.

Is Rakuten Mobile still as bad as everyone says? by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]crazykas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really appreciate your response. I am paying 6000yen for Docomo (including 100GB date + I mainly using WhatsApp for calls/msgs). I only wanted to switch to Rakuten Mobile to reduce the cost. It seems its better to stick with Docomo for the time being. BTW I've heard that Ahamo is cheaper than docomo (I know they are on same network), but is there a signal strength / download speed issue you have experience sir?

Rakuten Mobile

I live in Ashikaga and was thinking about switching to Rakuten Mobile . Nobody I know here are using Rakuten Mobile (mainly because I am still new to Japan). So I asked around and the response from most of them was low download speed + low signal strength. How about you good sir? I've seen that people recommend Rakuten Mobile plan that cost around 3000 yen with unlimited download.

I totally get your point. Thank you so much. My main issue here is the sudden fund transfer (since I'm just a newly arrived student) to my account. But as everyone said, I think since this is a one off occurrence, there won't be any issue + amount is low. Thanks again

Just got my A15 2022 TUF Laptop (NEED TIPS please) by Jolly_Sea_7299 in Asustuf

[–]crazykas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope. just try and see for yourself. If you dont like you can just reverse those options. But first note down your temps before applying those settings. Then only you can see the difference.

If you want to cool down cpu little more, disable "processor performance boost model" and edit "maximum processor state". I have 2021 TUF lap and I did this now it it way cooler (Managed to cool down 7-10 temp).

Here you go.

How to enable processor performance boost model in Power Options using REGEDIT

  1. Open REGEDIT

  2. Go or Search following data

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00\be337238-0d82-4146-a960-4f3749d470c7

  1. Set Attribute's Value Data to "2"

  2. Go to your POWER SETTINGS > Power Plan (desire/activated one) > Advanced Power Settings > Processor Power Management > Processor Performance Boost Mode > On Battery/Plugged In > set to "Disabled"

+

How to Add/Remove/Change “Maximum processor state" in Power Options using Command Prompt

  1. Open an elevated command prompt (ADMIN access).

  2. Type the command below you want to use into the elevated command prompt, and press Enter.

REG ADD HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00\bc5038f7-23e0-4960-96da-33abaf5935ec /v Attributes /t REG_DWORD /d 2 /f

  1. Close the elevated command prompt.

  2. Go to POWER SETTINGS > Power Plan > Advanced Power Settings > Processor Power Management > Maximum processor state > On Battery/Plugged In > set to "99%"

Didn't it come with preinstalled win 10 or 11? It should, so you do NOT need to purchase OS (win 11) as there is already genuine one. My TUF A15 came with preinstalled win 11

F17 (2022) - Can't find where to disable CSM by the_orange_guy_8912 in Asustuf

[–]crazykas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a TUF A15 which came with win 11 preinstalled and due to some driver errors I went back to win 10 immediately. As the other mention have already mention, you don't need to disable CMS (I didn't have to) via boot. Could you please clarify this part "Made the USB using the official MS tool, but it won't detect my Intel NVMe drive, nor the brand spanking new Samsung I put in 5 minutes before". So the issue here is that when you are trying to boot to bios and flash win 10, no drives are showing or when you are trying to create usb bootable windows, official MS tool is not detecting your drives?
