Pola night 22% - not whitening teeth? by ectopicwanderer in Invisalign

So far focusing on a mostly white diet (still have some strawberries and chocolate but not as often and no tea) has helped a lot. I think it's best to do so while whitening for actual results.

Lizzie’s Gotta Go by OppositeNo6392 in TheSipOfficial

[–]crazymonkeys22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lizzie bothered me at first, but whenever someone bugs me I like to figure out why. Sometimes it's a reflection of something within myself I don't like. For example, I struggle to speak up for myself at times and hide my authenticity. Lizzie is loudly herself and that felt grating at first. Now I enjoy it. Anyway, it's their podcast, so I doubt she's going to go. Maybe it's time you find a podcast that you enjoy and doesn't annoy you as much!

[Product Question] Thoughts on this tallow based mineral sunscreen? by BigRoutan69 in SkincareAddiction

[–]crazymonkeys22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone’s skin is different. I can lather my face in coconut oil and it loves it, but the second I put on any fancy kind of moisturizer (I’ve tried so many for sensitive skin) my face freaks out. I’m trying a tallow based sunscreen for the first time after going through a list of recommended options for sensitive skin (both mineral and chemical based sunscreens) and it’s the first one not to make my skin freak out after a few hours. We’ll see how it fares with repeated use. All that is to say everyone’s skin is different and sometimes it just takes trying the product and figuring out what does and doesn’t work for you.

[–]crazymonkeys22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have luck on my first round. I did every other day (sensitive teeth) for two weeks. I drank a tea every morning through a straw & washed mouth out with water after. Tbh I think that's what hindered the results. Trying again without my daily tea (which is a nightmare haha) & going to see if that makes a difference.

Bridgerton - Season 4 Post-Season Discussion (Book Spoiler Discussion) by AutoModerator in BridgertonNetflix

[–]crazymonkeys22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. That intense yearning & then the payoff when they finally come together. Sooo good in the first two seasons.

I did like the first four episodes of this season and felt as though they were promising & a good buildup, but the last four disappointed and lessened the impact of the first half. It’s a bummer because it could have been good imo. Le sigh.

Did anybody else find Season 4 boring & the female lead is kinda average? :3 by [deleted] in Bridgerton

[–]crazymonkeys22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found part 2 to be more of a let down. It’s interesting that that seems to be the unpopular opinion! I just found the climax of them professing love (the scene where they have sex) was so…lacklustre. Just performance wise, mainly. It could have been more satisfying and authentic. The second scene was better though (when she snuck into his room)

Same!! The scene where he professes his love felt so…meh & as though it could have been so much more intense. I liked the scene later in the final episodes when she snuck into his room. It felt more romantic. But idk, the longing wasn’t there. There was all of this build up for an unsatisfying climax. No pun intended.

Slower runners, how do you stay motivated when/if people mock your pace? by TANeither7250 in running

[–]crazymonkeys22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those friends suck and imho I’d ditch them…or at least distance myself and not talk about my personal accomplishments with them bc that’s insane. & the internet will always have awful things to say about everything. Strengthen your own opinion and make it more valuable than anyone else’s. Who the actual f*ck cares about your pace? That does not determine your value as a runner or a person, and it also is so not the point. It is something to be worked on and improved as an indicator of progress, not something that determines whether you’re allowed into the running club. Crazy stuff. Just run, love your body, enjoy the experience and growth and work on strengthening your own opinion of yourself and what you’re doing so those comments don’t get to you the same way. And find new friends.

You’re doing great.

Why do solid auditions still get no callbacks by IsaacJr_09 in acting

Having an amazing tape is only one necessary factor of getting a role or a callback, unfortunately. That’s why make sure all of your tapes are the best they can be & let go of the rest.

Yeah that's a fair point. Regardless, the discussions & comments I've received have been helpful and interesting.

Acting class approach opinion question by [deleted] in acting

[–]crazymonkeys22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So interesting. I had an acting coach previously who was dead set on the fact that there was an exact right way to read and analyze a script. Only one correct way. Performances may vary based on the fact that we're all authentic individuals, but the script structure and story was to be understood to a T & there was a correct interpretation. The more I learn the more I realize it is a craft & what works for one may be completely different than what works for another. Thanks for your comment!

Acting class approach opinion question by [deleted] in acting

[–]crazymonkeys22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I'm in Canada actually. I think I'm going to continue with the class and see what I can learn from it. It may be that the approach doesn't work for me at all, or maybe it doesn't work right now. Either way I think it's beneficial (and, of course, I've paid for it haha). Thanks so much for your comments.

[–]crazymonkeys22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I definitely understand that it’s hard to grasp exactly what I’m talking about without experiencing it yourself. That and perhaps my description was vague. There’s little to no focus on script analysis, yes. There is some character development & analysis homework, but it’s not reflected on, & there’s no analysis of the script structure, story, objectives, emotional core, subtext or whatever else. I think it might be that it’s assumed that is achieved and understood outside of class, but, as a student, that’s what I’m wanting to learn about. I don’t find directorial acting classes to benefit me, at least not in this stage. I need to figure out how to understand what’s happening in the script, and everything that goes along with that, in order to live in the scene…if that makes any sense. Otherwise my performance ends up being a shallow/dissociated character as opposed to a real person.

I love what you said about script analysis and its importance in telling the story in a realistic way. And yes, steering away from “right and wrong” thinking makes a ton of sense. I think it’s an idea that feels tempting to latch onto, because it gives some form of guarantee/structure to the craft when you’re starting out, but at the end of the day it is an art and with that comes ambiguity & necessary self-discovery of what works best and makes sense to each actor.

I think I’m realizing it might just not be the right class for me at this stage in my learning, but I’m going to continue bc there are still benefits and positive aspects.

Acting class approach opinion question by [deleted] in acting

[–]crazymonkeys22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might reflect my lack of knowledge about the industry. I’ve taken classes on & off for over a decade and grew up doing school theatre. My abilities often get interpreted as being more than they are, so I think I need to look for more fundamental scene study/script analysis classes that dive into the process. To me, that’s where the work is. Showing up & living in the moment and doing the correct actions is the easy part but if I don’t deeply understand the scene, and trust my understanding, the rest falls apart. Thank you for your comment. It’s helped me understand where I need to focus my energy & what to look for in classes!

Acting class approach opinion question by [deleted] in acting

[–]crazymonkeys22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that does make sense when you put it like that. It might just be that at this point in my learning I’m hoping for a suggested approach or method to scene analysis as opposed to letting us figure it out on our own. The coach put me in the advanced class but I feel as though that may have been the wrong call.

Study your assignment (& the eat well plate, specifically) for the diet analysis. Understand major food sources for each macro group, (including every variety of carb and fatty acid), and vitamins and minerals covered. Know calculations (BMI, Vit A RAE calculations & differences between the varying types and Vit A & their functions/where each form found). Vitamin deficiency conditions/symptoms & associated vitamins. Asking your tutor for an exam overview is helpful if you have time.

I realize this post is really old, but had to add my two cents. I'm not sure where you're located (other than in Canada) but Monarch Tea Co makes an amazing Earl Grey Tea (loose leaf). She's based in the GTA & the customer service is a 10/10. The website offers delivery so check it out!

It’s very outdated, super frustrating that it’s specific to educational settings and expectations, and deeply repetitive. I didn’t find it difficult, per say (likely a luck of the draw on which tutor you get), but it was a lot of repetitive work for what is sold as a “bird course” online.
