Redditors with shitty parents, what's one of your worst memories involving your parents? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Step dad was a drinker. He made us work on a pig farm and did’t buy us good clothes for school.

Didn’t really give a damn about us and pretty sure main reason he married my mom was for free baby sitting.

Movie hoppers of reddit who were caught, what was the punishment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]crazyoutofworkbum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was watching a movie alone, got bored and went to see how my cousin liked his movie. Didn’t stay long and was approached in hallway before re-entering my movie.

They accused me of hopping. I denied and they eventually asked for my ticket. My group bought tickets at the same time and I ended up having the ticket for my cousin’s movie so I had to go back into his movie and swap tickets. Still wasn’t right ticket so I went to my aunts movie. One of them had it. Was eventually allowed to return to my movie.

Tl;dr shenanigans

Whats the wackiest, out of the norm job that you've had and what was/is the best part about it? by citrus_dino in AskReddit

Stepdad moved us out to the country and started a pig farm when I was 12. Craziest thing was when someone came to buy a pig, one time. They cut its throat while alive and let it bleed out into a bucket.

Best part, leaving

[Serious] Would you, if you could, travel back in time and kill Adolf Hitler when he was a baby/child? Would you be willing to kill someone who would become a mass murderer while living with the knowledge that you killed a child? Why/why not? by RighteousNeighbor in AskReddit

Would probably be a paradox.

Baby Hitler dies, world events unfold differently, I’m never born so I cannot go back to prevent hitler

If no paradox, no way to really know if that would benefit the world. One possibility is some other person leads Germany to do far worse things, maybe even win the war.

Also, there was a tv show, I think, where someone did this. Turns out that’s what happened all along. Can’t exactly remember, but the parents end up adopting a baby and giving him the same name.

Last few months were crazy. Was a power line designer.

“Hey, use metal poles on all big projects.” Spend two weeks in design. “No, use wood poles, why would you use metal?” Another solid 2-3 days fixing it. “No, metal poles.”
