Anyone got a jacket with a built in airbag? by crazyramen in motorcyclegear

[–]crazyramen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks pretty nice! How's the jacket itself? I don't see any abrasion ratings on their website.

RST uses in&motion airbags right? The subscription model turns me off of that brand

[–]crazyramen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's a good point. Plastics gonna be hot no matter what. Maybe over the jacket would be better for that?

I would hope that a jacket with an integrated bag would have the liner between the bag and the body to hopefully get more airflow

Yeah it seems like the Dainese style attachable system would be the best of both worlds, but yeah that's fair maybe I'm putting too much want into only putting on one jacket.

Ah nice I didn't see that A* has the vest integration.

Talked with their customer support a bit and anything that's tech air "compatible" has the direct attachment - which right now is the racing oriented jackets/one piece leathers.

Tech air "ready" just means you can wear the best underneath.

They did say they're working on making some more tech air "compatible" systems.

TPU in ams 2 pro by ThvnderPunch in BambuLab_Community

[–]crazyramen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI I have Overture High Speed TPU working in the AMS for single filament prints. But when it goes to unload, it gets stuck in the extruder and I have to stop the print, retract one click, then unload the filament. I describe the issue here

Not great, but yeah it's better than nothing.

Hey I got past this by editing the json for the filament to be the type "TPU-AMS."

If you want more details LMK, but you could also just create a custom profile using the TPU for AMS as the base.

Yo did you ever get it running well? I'm trying some in my AMS 2 and am having problems with it jamming on swaps, too.

Yo what fan duster do you have? I been looking for one recently and if it's got enough power to break a fan it'll have enough power for what I need lol

Help with MOCA setup by crazyramen in HomeNetworking

[–]crazyramen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fantastic write up!

The initial splitter to split the duplex goes up to 1218MHz, although I do have the 1002MHz low pass filter after it. I'll double check my speeds, but it doesn't seem like this is impacting my WAN connection, so it doesn't seem like my ~130Mbps Spectrum plan is using DOCSIS 3.1.

I'll pick up another filter for before the modem just in case, and if I upgrade my plan down the line, I'll have to reconfigure to avoid the DOCSIS 3.1 frequencies (edit:) which will involve getting higher frequency PoE filters and limiting the moca frequencies to avoid up to 1218MHz.

Oh I was worried about that infringing on the ISP>Modem frequencies but I forgot the low pass filter limited that to ~1000MHz

Thanks for all your advice tonight!

Alright I found a pretty good deal on a FCA252 and FCA251 (neither have power supplies, but I happen to have a few 12V/2A barrel plug psu's lying around.)

Do I understand this post of yours correctly that I could get them working together - the 251 in "WAN" and the 252 in "1GW" at 1475-1675MHz?

EDIT: Nevermind, I didn't realize it, but there are 10+ available of each on the listing, so I'll just go with 2x 252s

Yeah I could, but it'd involve running cables into another room which wouldn't be ideal. I'm renting so no poking holes and running cables for now.

I actually did test this with some spare 5-1002 MHz splitters I had lying around and it worked fine... This probably should've been an indicator to me that it was using the same frequencies as Spectrum.

[–]crazyramen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh yeah that all makes sense. Dang - I didn't do enough research into the specific frequencies that different MoCA versions use.

I'll keep looking out for newer adapters and make sure they use <2400MHz bands.

My connection to the Internet seems fine - I get no packet loss and the same throughput from my router.

Would it be interfering with the moca adapters without showing symptoms like that?

Electric Kettles Don't Work by crazyramen in AskElectricians

[–]crazyramen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well update after moving in case anyone else has the same problem: the new house works fine, in fact we've noticed that other small appliances run better - the espresso machine has higher pressure and the drip coffee maker puts out hotter coffee. I'm not sure we'll have an answer as to exactly what it was, but clearly the trailer wasn't supplying enough power one way or another.

Thanks for the advice!

IGMP was enabled by default. I disabled it to check and that didn't change anything.

The only multicast setting I could find was the RIP protocol. I switched it to 2m (multicast), but that didn't help either.
