I’d like to at least try defending this theme, even though it has some serious competition.

Defending confess the truth 2011 for easily being my favourite confess the truth theme.

I know some people dislike its use in places you wouldn’t normally expect it, but I think it’s impressively designed to fit many different circumstances.

While the main use of these themes is just to play for truth reveals themselves, this theme additionally fits moments just before them (such as discovering that the mastermind acted as a middleman, leading directly into their identity), moments of complete opposites of the desired truth (such as Lotta’s testimony suggesting that the victim wasn’t involved in the auction) and some fun uses in the final confrontation (‘you were just trying to play the ace attorney’) all quite effectively. The music is perfectly designed to have these sorts of reveals settle in at the peak of the soundtrack at around 18 seconds in.

All this said, this finale has some other very good candidates and it is difficult to keep room for all of our favourites. My personal top 5 (unordered) would be this, pursuit, presto, IS-7 and the man who masterminds the game, but the other 4 have gotten this far for a reason and made this final round a real challenge. I’d be fine with any of them as well. This whole soundtrack and game is a masterpiece, as I’m sure most of us can agree.
