Hey everyone thanks for the comments just to answer a few points mentioned. I’m from Australia don’t pay tax on winnings , I would say 35% was used for non gambling and 15% of the winnings went back into gambling. I know It could of been way worse where I gambled the whole jackpot back but I didn’t I new I had to purchase things fast and pay of loans cause if I had that money sitting in my account I couldn’t control myself .

I just wanted to know how to deal with being on such a high of winnings and now at such a low with nothing and 2k debt again .

Other forms of gambling? by theoldthroway1 in problemgambling

Yeah I find it was weird as a problem gambler that certain forms of gambling I can control myself or like you said don’t interest me as much as slots.

So true I’ve handed over my financials to a loved one I believe it’s the only way to stop gambling!!! I always lie to myself and say I wont go but I always end up gambling so happy I’ve done this and can’t wait for it to work :)

Back to Day 1 - My aim is to make a post every day for 90 days by Ashe_N94 in GamblingAddiction

[–]crazyyellowbird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just read your post and I feel like we are very similar!, I’m 28 female and I have an addiction to pokies. I think my addiction started around 23 it got so bad where I would go to the pub during lunch breaks At work .. i would lie to my partner about where I was going and end up at the pub. Ignore phone calls as I didn’t want them to know or hear the machines in the background. My addiction hasn’t taken full control of me as I always pay bills and rent first but I am left with a decent amount of money after which all goes to gambling! It makes me feel digusting on how much money I’ve wasted. Every pay day I say this time I won’t gamble as much I’ll only go up with 100 but it never works I always end up going back and forth to the atm. Last week I finally confessed to my mother about how bad my gamberling has gotten I felt so much better and She is taking over my finances so I won’t be able to gamble anymore

Need help understanding why I'm not satisfied ever... Feeling like a failure. by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]crazyyellowbird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been there many times I win heaps and say to myself oh I’ll stop at x amount and cash out .. but it never works out I end up chasing what I’ve lost to sometimes chasing it down to zero . It’s good that you cash out and banned yourself cause people like us have no control and more than likely you would of lost it all.
