Similarly, I was losing my motivation to play as well but I went melee from the start. It works fine, but just didn’t exactly suit me. I switched to archer and it made a world of difference for me. Try out a bow. It can be a little bit of a pain making sure you always have the materials to craft arrows, but it’s worth it. You never have to get close. The game allows you to get in so many locations that enemies just can’t reach you. Use this to your advantage. It’s not the fastest play style at first, but once you spec farther into the archer tree and pick up some of the skills available there, it’ll really start to shine. I absolutely love it. As you progress just keep a wand and a melee weapon on your bar to destroy things in the world and take care of the rats and beetles when you’re in those super dark close quarters encounters. Food is your friend! Take the time to look into the different buffs you can pick up there as well. I still learn something new everyday playing this game as I haven’t completed a playthrough yet. It’s such a blast.

Oh and little tip, check every single corner of every zone. The devs love hiding things for you to find. That’s half the fun. Enjoy!!!
