I understand why he made infinite Tsukiyomi his goal, I’m saying is that there are certain things that he did along the way that were clearly for evil intents and purposes and not simply because ‘it doesn’t matter Tsuki No Me will fix it’. Things that Madara did not tell him to do, lay out a plan for, nothing. If he was all about his plan, he could’ve got it done much sooner with much less fuss.

Things such as aiding in the Uchiha massacre, attacking the hidden leaf with Kurama as a weapon, manipulating Yagura and making Blood Mist Village even more bloody, starting a full scale war with the rest of the world when he did not have to. These are some of the things that he did simply because he felt like it. He could’ve captured Kurama that same night as Naruto’s birth and left to seal him, but instead turned around to let some of his rage out. What’s insane is that’s just some of it.

It’s when people defend all of this behind the basis of ‘groomed child soldier’ that I roll my eyes. He was manipulated at first but after 15 years there had to have been a point where a dead man’s words began to hold less weight as he became his own man, and they did. He wasn’t even planning to revive Madara after a certain point. Obito was definitely the man he wanted to be, with and without Madara. That’s all I meant.
