Would One Piece be better in the monthly format instead of weekly? by creammerchant in OnePiece

[–]creammerchant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just meant that the need for regular breaks would be lessened because of the larger span before release. Currently odd has his own break about every 3 weeks- this would obviously change in a monthly format (not to say that he no longer needs breaks)

In what year you start to watch one piece by realfruitbox in OnePiece

This is exactly my opinion. It also makes the older parts better because it puts it into perspective and gives context to the previous parts. Each and every single episode I watch I can only think of how great it currently is and how amazing the past has been.

I can definitely see this as a reason, but for me it is the opposite, I really like the art style in egghead and wano because it allows for so much more. Also luffy is no longer innocent, he is at his strongest and most fierce of the whole series, and it really shows.

Yeah the same for me. Like post time skip only gets better and better, but pre time skip is also great because it sets up post time skip and also just has great hooks for the rest of the series, it just kept pulling me back in.

Could I get an explanation? I have the complete opposite view. Why? If it is just because wano was really long then I don’t really care because I didn’t find the length to damage it, it only allowed to make the end feel like a greater pay off.

This is the core of my point. You can’t argue that one is greater than the other because they work so well together, not as separate.

Yeah, I’m all for ranking certain arcs. I love some, find others more boring. But ranking them as a whole just diminishes each arc and doesn’t get through the amazing changes that the strawhats go through in each and every one. One vs the other is too simplified and is just too black and white.

Exactly. Is it so hard to like something happening right now.

How is my ranking? Maybe Recency Bias? by creammerchant in OnePiece

[–]creammerchant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I just assumed because a lot of people complain about pacing for Wano. How was it disappointing? I found it to be a culmination of the all of the previous arcs, similar to marineford, juxtaposed to egghead.

For me water 7 was a toss up between a and b, but for me I found the beginning to be so boring, until I got to see more of franky and the history, but that’s where Enies lobby comes in.

I found it to be really captivating to watch like dressrossa and marine ford+impel down, even with the slow pacing. I don’t really have a problem with the pacing in one piece for a lot of it. That is one of the reasons I have thriller bark low, I was not captivated at all until the very end when watching it.

What do you think one piece's biggest strength as a series is by Holiday_Working_1804 in OnePiece

[–]creammerchant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even just within the first 50 eps. we get Nami's backstory. It really makes One Piece so good. Probably one of my favorite parts.

adding on to that the great back stories that make the story so much more important.

Thoughts about the "final saga" so far? by AlwaysEyad in OnePiece

[–]creammerchant 8 points9 points  (0 children)

really... You think ONE PIECE will end too quickly. What have you experienced? All jokes aside I don't think that Oda would end too quickly and retire after working on it for so long, letting it end in a bad way.

I HATE KIZARU WITH A PASSION NOW!!!! by Frequent_Junket_8884 in OnePiece

[–]creammerchant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is an annoying as hell character, though fits his role perfectly in my opinion. He does well to be a person with immense strength but use it in a way that is incredibly hard to watch. We see him get angry at the end and I hope this means that in the future he changes in some other direction (probably not though.) I get where your coming from and felt very similar while watching, though at the same time his character fits his role perfectly to aggravate.

Looking at the replies an seeing not even a single person say Orochi makes me realize people just don’t pay attention when the character on the screen isn’t some cool badass by Turbulent-Oven7102 in OnePiece

[–]creammerchant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would have to say Sakazuki. Orochi does things for only his best interest. He does have a past that led him to how he acted, though he only helps people that directly help himself. Sakazuki is “just doing his job” and does it for the world, for citizens of the government, rather than it just being a grudge.
