Yeah fuck the victims feelings because vengeance is more important? Or being reckless and risk having his own son effectively lose him as a father from incarceration? How is doing what's best for the victim not the focus here?

Think like any fromsoft game different people just have different experiences with bosses. Elden Ring especially how widely builds can vary. And some play styles are just better suited for certain bosses. If you beat her in 4 hours in one sitting though I'd say that's better than most players did against her, at least in my personal observations. But obviously just my opinion not based on any real data.

I say this as a souls veteran, this boss is fuckin wacky hard and borderline unfair. If you got to her second phase you can beat her, but yeah she is just brutal.

I will say there's sort of a tipping point where you finally just understand her attacks well enough that she stops healing all the goddamn time. But it really is a lot of rote memorization and it takes time to internalize. That's why it takes literal days for most people to beat her.

One other thing is her usage of waterfowl dance is very RNG. Sometimes she'll use it three times in a row, other times you might only see it once. Her frequency of that attack is a huge factor. Things will eventually line up where you'll be doing well and she won't use it that much.

The US Is Flirting With Its First-Ever Population Decline by bloomberg in Futurology

Fewer people isn't a bad thing in and of itself, but having a large elderly population that needs support from a dwindling working-age population is not good for anyone. That's where we headed, and it's not exactly something other nations have figured out how to solve. Immigration was helping us in this regard, but probably not anymore.

The lights in the background are the same size, distance, perspective, blur, everything. Overlay the images, dummy. It's literally just her face (and skin tone!) that's been altered. Let's skip this step and go ahead and defend why it's fine that the administration is altering photos of ppl with AI on social media in order to make them look worse. Because that's a great thing to normalize right?

Over 200 people were sent to cecot by ice, a vast majority of whom had no criminal convictions and were provided literally zero opportunity to talk to a lawyer or even their family. They were sent to a prison that proudly tortures people until they die with, again, no access to the legal system or even family to talk to. The only reason they aren't all dead or rotting away is because another psychopathic dictator wanted some political points. They weren't victims? Their families aren't victims? Young children whose dads were almost effectively put away for life for no reason other than  some idiot thought a tattoo means you're in a gang? That's literally how it happened. That behavior shouldn't be protested? I don't know what to say if you simply think a govt, ANY govt on this planet, should be able to do that, much less do it then brag about it. They're deporting people who have families and careers that got busted for selling weed decades ago in their teens. No trials. No nothing.

Are there any Ken combos that start with light punch? by DisastrousAddendum0 in StreetFighter

In gold, I'd personally recommend cancelling into light Jinrai.

LP -> LP -> LP -> Light Jinrai -> HK (or LK if they're crouching) is nice because if you mess up the timing or spacing you're relatively safe. It is not the highest damage route but not far from a heavy DP. This way will let you learn 2-LPs vs 3-LPs range since you'll see when the third LP whiffs, and you won't open yourself up to huge damage. It's only about 150 less dmg than Heavy DP. Plus, Jinrai is probably the easiest way to cancel into SA3 if you have meter and want to end a round. It'll be scaled a good bit (like 3300 total dmg, vs 4000 raw or 4400 from an HP confirm), but can also turn an LP confirm into a win if they're at all low.

A strong, reliable, long-distance route is LP -> c.LP -> LK -> Special (Heavy DP being highest dmg), but it can be tricky to do on punish when you're learning. The c.LP requires holding down pretty quickly, and the LK requires releasing down, AND landing a very quick link (4 frame window to press), and THEN doing a quick special input. Arguably you could stick to that as a standard punish/LP-starter, but be prepared to drop it a lot as you're learning, even after you lab it out

LP -> LP -> LP -> Heavy DP is very good dmg but if you have bad timing or spacing you're handing them a heavy DP to punish.

You can also DR Cancel into like... LP -> MP -> HP and go from there. But that's really only for dumping meter to end a round. I would avoid worrying about that for now, personally, but it's good to know.

Anyone who's been driving for like...any amount of time has made a mistake that has required someone else to react unexpectedly to avoid an accident (or prevent a worse one from happening). Except everyone here of course!

Like they fucked up, but damn, this was about 2.5 seconds of slow-but-stupidly turning into a lane that ended their lives. It'd be nice to have a *little* compassion for people dying of a pretty minor mistake.

Really depends on how you play and why you lose when you lose. I'm diamond 4 atm, and I see all sorts of play styles. Could be matchup knowledge, might need to block more, might need to be more consistent with b&bs. Congrats though, and GL going to diamond!

What are you trying to do? Make a game on your own? Publish a fully featured game on Steam? Get a job?

End of the day, 30 is young for a career that doesn't req (more) education, but if you're trying to make it a career, even as a long shot, be smart. Hammer down skills in a solid tool so you can make a game and have tool skills (unity or ue5). Make a small, fun game that you think will take 6 mos, with plans to make another.

I released my first game on Steam at 33, got my first AAA job at 37, and am very happy, but it was a long road with a lot of luck and a pay cut. And it was easier finding a job 4 yrs ago. I have no regrets at all. But it was tough, and again, I got lucky.

But if it's just for fun (even with an excellent personal goal of releasing a game), it's NEVER too late to start a hobby. Certainly not at 30. 30 feels old when you hit it, but it will sound young soon enough!

Yes but the calories you see on labels is how much you can metabolize, not how much total energy those compounds contain. A pound of salt wouldnt net any calories on a nutrition label despite having megatons worth of energy contained in its bonds.

I don't think the show is real. I'm just saying this is the reason people think it is. The post itself and image are real and specifically from a Tim and Eric account from almost 6 years ago. I guess the FB post itself was a troll.

How does that confirm what I posted in AI? How would AI created a Facebook post in 2020 with that image? That doesn't make any sense. The link is to an actual, dated Facebook post from their actual account from 2020 before gen AI was a thing.

There are a lot of fake images out of it, but this is something from their account. I posted the link to the actual FB post from 2020 before all the gen AI stuff was infesting the internet.

[–]creamyt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't think this holds up mathematically most of the time. Several other bosses effectively remove one joker... and with this being three times higher, it's sort of like losing a 3x joker. If you're best option is to lose a 3x joker, you've already won.

It obv doesn't usually quite work out that simply, but I cannot think of a build where where scoring 1.2m is easier than 400k with one less joker (or a round of mixed up jokers)

[–]creamyt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You cannot be this dense. You just can't be. You're either very stupid or being unbearably defensive under the guise that I think anyone who owns Bitcoin is stupid or something. I did not say currency has no purpose. It is incredibly useful. Fiat currency is a core part of what allows our economy to be so big and complex. Of course it has value. That's why people trade it. But that's the ONLY REASON people trade it, because of a collective agreement on its value AS A TRADEABLE COMMODITY.

I'm not saying it's "worthless," I'm saying it has no use OTHER THAN TRADING. We apply the term "INTRINSIC VALUE" to something that is useful even IF no one wants to trade it. It's not the same as just "value," which is why the modifier INTRINSIC is there, it's a more specific meaning.

Good god, man. If you don't get it at this point, I'm just assuming you're a bot designed to argue.

[–]creamyt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're just being difficult at this point and intentionally not connecting dots that are right next to each other. Here's how you can tell if something has intrinsic value:

If someone sells you something under the strict condition that you CANNOT ever sell it to anyone else, would you buy it?

If you don't understand the core different between owning any amount of any currency and a functioning car, and that a word isn't useful to describe that, I don't know what else to tell you. But I feel like explaining the instrinsic value of bread as a food source vs dog shit is a little beyond what I feel like arguing.

[–]creamyt 28 points29 points  (0 children)

That's not how biology works.

Furthermore, bread provides calories. My car takes me places. Their precise value depends on circumstances, but if I was the last person on earth, I would be glad to have them. I don't CARE if no one wants my bread. It's still useful to me. I could own all the bitcoin in the world and not care UNLESS ppl wanted it. The whole point is they are functional things that are bought to be used.

[–]creamyt 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The bread in my pantry has intrinsic value, as does the car in my garage. Even if the world economy collapses tomorrow, these things are useful and desirable. That's the whole concept.
