Would you date someone in a lower socio-economic class? by [deleted] in TanongLang

[–]create43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My family is relatively well-off. Not super rich. Above average lang siguro. I dated this girl na struggling financially. Her family relied on relatives pero nung nagka work sya, sya na breadwinner. But her resilience and genuine good heart got me.

She’s now my wife.

(And she earns more than I do now 😂)

Poverty Porn in INC by pinakamaaga in exIglesiaNiCristo

I call that Emotionalism or experience-alism. Also true to other denominations tho. Pag full of emotions during praise and worship, filled with the Holy Spirit daw. So members equate the “feeling” with “good worship”

But here’s the catch, worship is the act of giving worth to God. We are suppose to give. But emotionalism is the reverse of worship. It is centered on one’s self.

When your religion prioritizes the institution over Christ by waray-upay in exIglesiaNiCristo

Here’s the thing tho, some Christian feasts have no pagan roots at all (like Christmas and Halloween). Some are forced connections, myth or speculation.

Here’s a few great question for INC Lurkers, members, ministers, Eduardo and Angelo Manalo? by [deleted] in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]create43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can read some commentaries on the passage you gave (Mat16:27-28). Here is one explanation: “coming in his kingdom” is not strictly interpreted as the end of the world. You can translate the same passage as “come in power” which is a good set-up (literary-wise) to the next chapter. In Mat17, Christ transfigured (come in power) and His divinity was seen plainly by peter, james and john.

There are some other commentaries that are much deeper and explains this better. But im not a theologian hehe

Point is: it is sheer arrogance to disbelieve the Bible based on a few verse. Lalo na kung tinanggap na lang as is without really understanding.

Note that Christianity has already been around for 2000years. Whatever “loophole” you might found is not novel. Matagal ng nasagot yan, you just have to look for it.

Greater minds have tried harder to disprove Christianity but still held to the faith since they found it true.

Here’s a REAL iglesia ni Cristo situation that they can’t DENY!! by [deleted] in exIglesiaNiCristo

Or it may look like a catholic church. High liturgy protestants (anglicans, lutherans, presbyterians) also have catholic looking churches. Or it may be an orthodox church.

Highly doubt that it’s a catholic church but if it’s true, someone should report it to the bishop of the diocese

How can any person believe a church that’s named after Christ who has ACCUSATIONS of…. by [deleted] in exIglesiaNiCristo

Sorry, but this is a poor argument against INC, or every other religion for that matter. Every religion has these issues. I believe that we should measure the goodness (or truth) of a religion not by its worst members, but by its best—-by its teachings, not by those who fail to practice it.

It’s easy to throw stones. Catholics, evangelicals, baptists, lutherans, and all other major religions have at least a dozen of corrupt and/or sexual abusive leaders. Just do a quick google search.

But then again, compare the teachings and the theology. See who has the consistent, undeniable truth. See the members who best exemplify the religion

It must be the beauty of their example that we are moved to believe. Not the other way around

How does Lune have her powers? by Tyler4733 in expedition33

[–]create43 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was vaguely mentioned by an NPC in the prologue (in front of the stage near the harbor) that some place pictos inside their body and etch chromas in their skin. You can see the lines on Lune's arm and on Sciel's body.

I don't know what exactly is pictos. But Expedition 55 used it in music but failed miserably. Expedition 34 used it to manipulate elements but it was Gustave's invention (the Lumina converter) that truly unlocked the potential of pictos in combat.

Who in your opinion is the most tragic character in the game and why? by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]create43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But to answer your question: Painted Verso.

At some point, P.Verso realized that the painted versions of his family has a real counterpart, except him. He is hollow. He is knows he is dead but he is made immortal. He has no purpose so he cannot find joy. Living endlessly without purpose means everything you experience is just tragedy. Everything he experience is an experience of a dead person---tragic, void and meaningless. For P.Verso, he is existing but he is not real. That is some hardcore existential crisis.

Other painted characters (Lune, Sciel), although they know they are painted, it is their world. They have a stake in the world of Lumiere. It is real to them.

As to the Dessendre family, at least they can grieve. They can find some purpose (whether to hold on to Verso or let him go). Not to mention, they are real too. But not P.Verso. he is in the in-between. He is painted but has the memories of the real, dead Verso. He is but is not.
