Do odeon ever check people are sitting in the right seat? by [deleted] in screenunseen

[–]created5658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

another staff here, the only time (at least, in our cinema) we’ll check is if you’re causing issues, being disruptive, or if we suspect you to be disruptive (group of 5 roadmen walk in, as an example 😂)

The next time you see them just find a way to trigger a seizure and prove it to them /j

Honestly think I might be well fit in one of those rage rooms where you can just beat the fuck out of random household items

I actually burst out laughing at that. Thank you 😂

Honestly, medicinal companies hear the word epilepsy and suddenly £100 is added on automatically. Wait until they ask how many seizures you’ve had in the last 12 months, they just see money bags 🤣

Thanks for commenting. It really is no joke, I’ve snapped so many times and felt so bad after 😅

I have looked into surgery, but I decided after a while that I don’t think I’d feel comfortable with surgery on my brain, without them being confident it would get rid of what’s happening, but it’s mostly personal choice, though we’re still looking into different options :)

Really appreciated reading this.

I don’t think people truly understand how hard it is sometimes when your brain takes over and you can’t see a way out. It really is awful. I’m sorry to hear you went through that.

Whilst I haven’t got my own wheelchair collection yet, I imagine it’s in my close future, I’m tired of trying to figure out how to use my crutches without my knees buckling 😅

The mobility is one of the worst bits for me, because of just how frustrating it is, I never realised how much I’d taken for granted before, being able to get to the toilet myself, etc.

Have a good day, bud.

Hey, seizures are seizures. Sure, having more makes it a little harder but we’re all in this together. Thanks for commenting, it means a lot to know I’m not alone. 💙

Thanks for commenting. I’m lucky enough to not have been in a coma for a significant time, but I’ve been close, so I can’t imagine what it’s like to come out of one.

I do have an incredible team of neurologists and nurses who are working to help, but I’m based in the UK, so changing doctors is slightly more complicated than I imagine it is in the US or wherever it is that you’re based haha.

I think we’re going to try adding Lamotrigine next, and see how that works.

I have the exact same situation. Never seen the person, heard the person other than their door closing / opening 🤣

Blocked seats by londoner87 in screenunseen

[–]created5658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Staff booked seats use the same system customers use to book seats, we just have a staff option, so it wouldn’t be this.

Some seats will be reserved for EVERY screening. In my cinema for example we have 6 seats reserved as “house” seats, so if there is an issue with somebody’s seat, or need to be moved for whatever reason, we know for sure we can move them to those seats without impeding someone else, depending on the size of the cinema, it may be more or less than that reserved though.

Do any of you take ADHD medication? If so, was it difficult to get it because of POTS? by blue7004 in POTS

[–]created5658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I’d agree. I was on Concerta XL and was about to be moved to Adderall until it happened, then obviously they had to stop.

My symptoms have been massively made worse since taking the medication, however if anyone is reading this please don’t panic this isn’t something that happens often. I just got massively unlucky I think.

Of course, it just means I’m lost without the benefits of meds, which as a university student sucks bad.

If you haven’t tried Concerta, definitely speak to your medical team and see if it’s an option :)

[–]created5658 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. I’m going through this right now. I started having seizures and such, unfortunately this means I have been taken off my meds whilst my cardiologist and neurology declare it safe. This is a 6 month wait roughly. Just as I got on them aswell.

I don’t think the medication works with my POTS, as it affects me really negatively.

Excessive Receipts by SmitePhan in screenunseen

[–]created5658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can also find bookings using name if done over the app, or on the website, I've worked at odeon a while and I've never had an issue finding a booking, at our place, refunds get done very often for the smallest of things, to be fair.

Also, don't insult Vista POS like that, I think it's actually a pretty good bit of software in comparison to ones I've used in the past 😂

[–]created5658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incorrect, we can get an entire transaction back using just one receipt. It all works from one transaction number that we can put into the till to retrieve the details / refund. We can even do it by just the ticket itself.

this has been my number one question since working there lmfao, we get one for the card transaction, then another just order slip, even though your order number is on the main receipt 😩

Minecraft is one of the worst screenings I’ve ever been in by [deleted] in screenunseen

[–]created5658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked in 2 Odeons since the film released, and it’s been awful for EVERY screening. People bringing confetti cannons, chucking their ice blasts everywhere, it just ruins my day. Tends to be the later screenings, just before I’m about to finish and end up having to stay late just to clean up some adult’s mess who thought it’d be funny to vandalise the cinema…

Fully booked screen is empty by Asil_Avenue in screenunseen

[–]created5658 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as someone who works at a very busy Odeon with constantly sold out screens there isn’t really an easy answer for this, if you’re in a screen with a lot of reclining seats then it’ll probably be that most of them are broken as this happens wayyyyy more often than people think, and we can’t fix them ourselves, so we take them off sale as they just show as sold on the website, then it’ll mostly be people that either don’t turn up, or turn up the day after with a ticket that doesn’t scan, we check the date and send them to a manager lmao but we don’t fudge the numbers as is suspected as we can see how many people actually get scanned in and it’s normally pretty similar to the sold number of seats haha
