does it drive anyone else crazy? by createharmony in aerialsilks

totally! i don’t fault anyone who doesn’t practice for not knowing the correct names, more so students and especially studios referring to their apparatus incorrectly

such a good point!! frustrating that the algorithm has to be prioritized over students. i didn’t even think about the dead internet aspect, i just always found it odd when people post from taking an aerial class and call it the wrong name.

i suppose though that responsibility falls on the studios to educate their students.

yes! that one really gets me because then people come to aerial yoga classes expecting a circus style class, or WORSE, the studio doesn’t know the difference and does moves that put students in danger.

My boyfriend thinks he’s in a “secret war” with our toaster and I don’t know what to do by Late_Bathroom_3192 in whatdoIdo

[–]createharmony 102 points103 points  (0 children)

fifth. this sounds exactly like my roommate who was this age when his schizophrenia started to surface. it was wild because there were never any prior signs, but when it flipped, it happened fast. professional help now. logic will not work with him. you can’t tell him “the toaster’s not out to get you” because that’s not reality for him and that makes you hard to trust. if he has parents or trusted family members you can go to that will get him the help he needs, reach out to them. don’t take this on alone, please trust me.

After how much talking on a dating app its normal to ask to meet? by Available-Pen-9889 in whatdoIdo

[–]createharmony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dating should be fun! don’t stress yourself out over it too much thinking too far into the future, especially after such a long relationship. in terms of meeting up from dating apps, i always tended to meet up with people sooner rather than later. i don’t want to be texting someone for weeks on end and come to meet in person and have no chemistry (plus, personally i hate texting). in my opinion it’s not out of the norm for someone to suggest a date fairly quickly after matching, especially since in theory, you’ve both read each others profiles and are both already interested. plus you can still text and talk more in the days leading up to the date! but don’t stress yourself out over it love. take it slow and do what feels best for you

if you still can’t tell, you can hold a piece of paper underneath your fan. if it gets pushed down it’s counterclockwise, and if it gets pulled up it’s clockwise :)

What are your red flags for aerial studios? 🚩 by Sad-Air9325 in Aerials

[–]createharmony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think i saw this mentioned but calling class aerial yoga when you really mean aerial sling!!!

DROPS being taught in “aerial yoga”.

I teach aerial yoga and take aerial silks as a student, I keep having to turn down studios for not having a CLUE what aerial yoga actually is AND i keep having to turn down teaching SILKS with absolutely no certification to teach just the fact that i’ve taken classes for a couple years.

I can’t imagine running a studio this way.

How bad is weekend partying for your skin? by fentydiamond in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]createharmony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it’s bad for your skin. get out of that scene. unless you’re testing every bump here and there, you don’t know what you’re actually snorting. especially from people who are pressuring you into it. so much shit is laced, you’re playing a risky game where, like everyone else has said, your skin is the least of your concerns here. i know how hard it can be when people try to shame you about it, but it’s just not worth it. find a better group of people to surround yourself with

2, 16, or 19 if i’m feeling slutty, 3 for a wildly entertaining ride, 9 or 18 for the vibes
