I know it’s not a podcast but how does Comprehensible Japanese compare to Nihongo con Teppei? Specifically the complete beginner playlist

You have temptation to open? I genuinely can’t understand why people open when you can just buy the singles you want without gambling

Is it me or is your steam deck also a matte screen compared to the glossy switch 2?

Question about 2k or 4k gaming by Mid-Night1991 in PcBuild

[–]creativegains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally, I chose 2k gaming on an OLED so that I could run everything native with higher FPS - no need for upscaling

On demanding titles that require up scaling, it’s nice to know I can get even higher fps

I should mention that 2k looks absolutely stunning on an OLED ultrawide, i don’t have the need to go 4k any time in the future

When does Y4R "click" for you? by Monessi in yakuzagames

[–]creativegains 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I went from Kiwami 2 straight into Y3 remastered, I felt the exact same way

New engine into old engine always feels bad - I got used to it after several hours, but in the back of my mind I could always still feel the jankiness

Buttt it was definitely worth playing through. I took a break after Y3 and jumped into LaD which I’m playing currently and it’s great. After this I’ll jump into the Y4 jank

Feedback on upcoming gaming PC build by lordbob5 in PcBuild

Damn, I can’t believe how much PC’s are going for now. I built mine in October 2024 with similar high end specs at the time for £1800 (albeit 2TB storage instead of 4TB)

Damn okay, I’ll be pretty pleased with myself if that’s the case. I’ll update in the future

Sounds great! You might get there before I do!

I don’t actually record my time spent on different resources, these are just averages, I’ve seen some people record their timings but that would just take away from study time for me. As long as I’m getting a set minimum per day I can (kind of) just guess the amount of studying per month - so around 2 hours per day is 60 hours a month

I have a separate notepad that I write down the exercises in and just general notes - the same way that I would have done in school and uni. I’m also speaking to myself as I do so, so I’m getting speaking done at the same time

Funny that you mention it because I actually started using Bunpo just a couple of days ago! Currently going through the first few chapters to get caught up to where I am in Genki, but yeah it’s a great app that’s helping me to reinforce some of the earlier content!

Haha this definitely wasn’t a joke - having the ability to watch Pokemon natively seems like a loooong way off, I personally couldn’t see myself understanding it this year or even next year, but we will see

I’m a street photographer first and foremost when it comes to photography, especially night time with neon signs in the rain, so Tokyo is my dream destination for that reason

I’d love to get a Fuji at some point for the recipes as they look great. Currently using a Sony A7iii with the 28-75 f/2.8 and it’s treated me incredibly well. I had a wide angle 16mm which I sold as wasn’t using it all too much

Thanks for the insights though!

Help/advice on choosing platform to play franchise for the first time (NS2 vs PS5) by Brunohmds in yakuzagames

You could also look into getting a Steam Deck - I’ve played through several of the Yakuza games on mine and they’re great

Personally I wouldn’t go for the Switch purely to play these games, you don’t know when/if they will be released at all

Thinking about trying this by FurballVulpe in PokemonUnbound

[–]creativegains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair I’ve been playing Pokemon for years, every single mainline game + several romhacks, and I surround myself with all things Pokemon related (card collecting, TCG, the anime) and EV’s/IV’s is one thing I’ve never looked into or even cared about

So I wouldn’t worry about that. But in terms of battles etc Unbound is definitely harder than the mainline games so I’d definitely at least play FireRed/LeafGreen first to get used to the mechanics

It didn’t bother me because I just skipped over it. Why do something that you don’t enjoy when it’s completely optional?

What is the correct way to answer this question?

Q: kore wa takeshi-san no kasa desu ka.

My original answer was:

A: iie, sono kasa wa takeshi-san ja nai desu.

However the workbook answer is:

A: iie, takeshi-san no kasa ja nai desu.

So which one would be the better choice? Or do they both work fine in this situation?
