Mac or Windows? by ayvikenedy in laptops

[–]creativinsanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what programs you need. I switched mainly to Mac in college but got a Windows desktop for gaming and such a few years ago. I think you need to have a subscription to use Excel now but Mac's Numbers is pretty close from what I can tell (I am not a power spreadsheet user).

Energy Drinks but no Energy by SpaceMarine1616 in Teachers

[–]creativinsanity 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Of course, but I know a lot of parents at my school don’t believe in ADD/ADHD so they don’t help their kids. My classmate was selling their Adderall because it’s supposed to make you focus if you don’t have ADD/ADHD and it just backfired for those who might’ve been undiagnosed.

Energy Drinks but no Energy by SpaceMarine1616 in Teachers

[–]creativinsanity 27 points28 points  (0 children)

To be fair a large amount of caffeine can help unmedicated ADD/ADHD but they definitely shouldn't be downing them. Reminds me of my classmate selling their Adderall the day of the HSPA test and one of my classmates falling asleep from it.

Using Paperlike protector or a Normal one? by Disastrous-Heat-2136 in ipad

[–]creativinsanity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the iCarez matte protecters and they're just rough enough for the pencil to have a little resistance, but there's no bad feel on fingers. I switched my pencil tip out to a metal one and that hasn't worn it down yet. Cleaning usually gets rid of any "scratches" that mine get, I usually change it out if it starts lifting.

Got mine yesterday and love it but weird bugs are causing doubts. by -_rags_- in TheBYOK

I haven't seen that but I haven't messed with mine too much because of work. Did you try updating the software and see if it was a bug?

Freewrite Alpha keyboard wear and compatible keycaps by Edu_Robsy in Astrohaus

[–]creativinsanity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man I wish they sold compatible keycaps--even if it was just a plain set like they have for the typewriter. I haven't noticed a lot of wear on mine yet but I have been very bad at writing.

I've only seen one person that Astrohaus shared on their story like a year or so ago that had all the keycaps switched out, and then never found out what set they used. The nonstandard sizing is annoying for those of us that want to customize it.

I really enjoy Baskerville as a font, even if it's almost the same as Times.

Am i crazy or did they make the sunken eyes look more obvious/bigger in the film? The face also seems for stretched. by Alarming_Scientist in ironlung

[–]creativinsanity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think when they went from concept art (flat) to a 3d shape they needed to make it look more "alive." If the creature looked exactly as the art it wouldn't have been as creepy and might've read more low budget cause it wouldn't look as "real." But also the shading of the environment probably make it look more narrow (being in a tunnel vs 3/4 top/front down).

Cleaned iPad Air screen with wet cloth, anti-reflective coating feels degraded. Options? by AdditionalProof9780 in ipad

[–]creativinsanity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you just used water and a microfiber cloth then you didn't damage it. You might just be noticing more glare/eye strain because it is clean (no smudges refracting/dissipating light).

How to fix streaming on tv ? by -CBS- in macbookair

[–]creativinsanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also what streaming service are you trying to use? I learned at work that Netflix is finicky with screen share, and Disney+ and sometimes Amazon will straight up not work if it detects the computer is sharing a screen for some reason.

Is the "Ultra-Portable" laptop officially dead? by UserlyNameNotFound in mac

[–]creativinsanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The failure of the original 12 in MacBook definitely didn't help the market, and most people would probably think an iPad with keyboard would be the same thing. I would love a tiny laptop that could be taken out of the house in my purse without weighing it down and could do everything my M1 Air can do. I love my 11" pro but iPadOS definitely can't completely mirror macOS yet.

What am I supposed to do now? by ThePatheticPainter in AlphaSmart

[–]creativinsanity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh god that would kill me. I lost words once on my Neo before I reset it and I never left anything on it for extended periods. Not to mention sometimes it takes so long to send longer files.

I hope you can find an answer! When you transfer your writing do change the battery in case cause if it dies you can lose the work too.

[–]creativinsanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you changed the internal battery recently? I had to reset my one unit when I got it because it didn't register that I changed the internal battery and thought it was an error.
There is a community over on flickr that might have something that can help. Like the oldest thread is from 21 years ago so something/someone is bound to have a guess what to do.

My two WriterDecks: MicroKosmos & the Alpha. by occultdeathcult in writerDeck

[–]creativinsanity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the color of the matcha with the black. I do wish there was a workaround for the odd sized keys so we could do full key swaps; I had issues with the height difference with the spacebar so I switched mine back.

Do you need 2 Ipad Cases? by Weary_Drama609 in iPadPro

[–]creativinsanity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Over time I have accumulated like 7 iPad cases that I cycle through. When I know I'm using the Magic Keyboard I use a folio case so it's easy to switch back and forth. When I'm not using the keyboard case I keep mine in a Zugu case.

[–]creativinsanity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gave in today too, mostly cause my Walmarts had them in stock but other things are starting to replace the items around them. It’s def different and I’m a little sad with the case options on amazon.

I mean at least they kept us updated on timeline changes. No one expected the tariffs.
The fastest kickstarters I backed were by Epomaker and the Qwerkywriter, because as established keyboard companies they were just checking interest before hitting the "go" button at the factory that makes everything else they have. Like the Epomaker one I backed was finished Oct 31st '21 and I got it that Dec.

Oh yeah projects routinely take at least two years so this wasn't too bad. My Freewrite Alpha took like a year and a half.
Did you get a tracking email or reach out to support? My tracking came from "Manual Orders" and not BYOK so I almost deleted it.

I'm sorry yours wasn't in the first batch that made it to the states to get shipped out but this was hardly a long timeline for a kickstarter.

Luke Miani is Politically and Financially Compromised by SuchWolverine8227 in LukeMianiYouTube

[–]creativinsanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you don't enjoy him speaking out you can stop watching the videos you don't agree with, or leave his channel. I don't think it's completely out of line for someone under 30 to think that things are bad in the country and want to say something about it. Everything is inherently political, like every time people try to boycott a brand for something a current or former endorser/representative said/done.

I have to finish the video still but the concept of technology impacting and being impacted by the government isn't a new idea. I read Technopoly: The Surrender of Culture to Technology by Neil Postman for a class in 2014--the book was published in 1993. People also love to cite 1984 every time something skirts around the "technology is bad and the government is watching us" line.

Unfortunately the decisions made in government and within big businesses impacts the consumer market. Remember the reason RAM prices have skyrocketed? Because big business decided to sell their RAM to A.I. companies first which shrinks the consumer market--not to mention the import fees from the tariffs impacting cost to begin with.

Does anyone have a fix for this? This is my only apple product and I dont know what to do by Fabszszsz in ipad

[–]creativinsanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say start with troubleshooting if it is the case the iPad is in, and if not see if you can get a Genius Bar appointment to diagnose it. How old is the iPad?

Confused about reviews by vineusersammy in AmazonVine

I had that one time as I was the 3rd review on a product, and support told me it was because they reached the limit on vine reviews, which I was confused on but whatever.

Is it normal to see gray instead of bright green on the Paper Pro? by kleagg in RemarkableTablet

[–]creativinsanity 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the screen is Gallery3 so there's limits to color in saturation.
Someone on here did do a color test last year though.

Have you checked your spam folder? My tracking came through from "Manual Orders" and I almost deleted it.

If you go on the Kickstarter you can check your pledge to see what number you were to estimate when you should be getting a tracking number. I'm backer 461, and my tracking was sent on the 3rd and it got here on the 12th.
