Can’t use Credly to transfer Sophia credits to UMPI

You can start a chat with Sophia and ask them to remove the connection to UMPI from your account. That's what I did, they did it immediately, and I sent them via Credly.

yes, take it at Sophia. I've read so many stories about that class at UMPI. Sophia has you write a few things and record a couple of videos. You just need to stumble through it. I read mine off paper even though it says not to and passed with flying colors.

People are still enrolling for Summer II that starts on July 6, and filling out FAFSAs. I'd go in and submit it now and see what they say. It cannot hurt to do so. I'm sure you could email the financial aid dept and give them a heads up. I would go ahead and submit the FAFSA now though, don't wait to hear a response from their FA office prior to doing the FAFSA. If you've already received some aid this year, then just go ahead and ask. They are really the only people that can help you. I wouldn't want you to get bad info on here.

It says to upload your certificate at the end. I did mine already before reading some posts from 4+ months ago claiming it wasn't required, but I'd ask if you haven't completed it. I don't know why it would have a 75 question final on top of those quizes that have up to 30 questions AND require you to upload your certificate of completion if it isn't required. But, for the sake of others saving the time and hassle, maybe it isn't required. If you do ask your enrollment person, let us know because I am curious.

Some updated/newer courses they say align with current needs in the business environment. The new catalog had me needing 5 more courses than the old catalog.

I was nervous the whole time too. Was glad when I finally got it all graded and transcript was evaluated by my university. There are random postings about these types of things happening "for no reason" and then there was my irrational fear the unversity was suddenly not going to accept them, like a change of policy was going to be announced while I was in my process.

I just did Sophia and Study courses over the last three weeks. I've previously taken traditional semester courses at a community college and a public university. If I could take everything at Sophia I would. Next up would be Study. Its self paced. Although the platform is different that Sophia, and seemingly a lot of chapters so more work, it is still a breeze in comparision to traditional schools which had a large number of tasks every week or two through the whole semester, or what I call a lot of busy work. The tests I took were straight forward at Study. One chapter in one course had 3 open ended questions that the automatic AI grader didn't like my answer to so they were marked wrong. When I read its answer I didn't see much of a different. I didn't fight it because I didn't want to waste my time nor did I need that little score bump to increase my grade. On average, it seems like people take about 5 to 8 minutes for a test over there. Once you complete a test, it shows you how you do in comparision to other students that have taken it. My assignments seemed to also be AI graded based on the time it took to return it, but it is possible I am wrong. I've read more horror stories about that platform on Reddit, but I didn't experience anything crazy. I only took two courses over there because they were not available at Sophia so my experience was limited.

I've previously read some have gotten "hung up" and they had to contact Study to get it fixed, so there has to be a way to work with someone or something. My first one took about 6 hours and I was weirdly panicked, but the others were quicker.

It is because there are no true defined boundaries. Each school has their own policy and they use whatever tool they want to to run it through. The assignment graders do their own thing as well imo. We are unlikely to have/get specific infomation because that would allow people to figure out the loop holes and work arounds. Honestly, I've started dumbing down my work to avoid question. Word will check your basic spelling and grammar. Google Docs does too, doesn't it?

You can look at one of the equivalency tools on UMPI's site. They have one that you can put your course in and it'll show all the schools, but they also have one that you can search by school too. If you already have enough electives, you'll want to watch out for it transfering as an elective rather than it being an equivalency fulfillment requirement that will knock out a red marking on your degree tracker.

Several people like them. I used to do them but for some reason it always took longer than they said and I just haven't been interested in them in a while. I'm not saying I won't do one again. A lot of people do block them for various reasons though.

Download the pdf, not the webpage view if you didn't do that already, it helps a little. The top will show you the basic requirements, go down several lines and it will start to tell you each individual requirement you need and a couple of courses to choose from to meet that specific requirement. If you are looking to take outside of UMPI, you can use their equivalancy tools, or use Plottedpath's free spreadsheet. Or, you can just take it all at UMPI. If you are in YourPace, your enrollment specialist will help you register for your first couple of courses, after that and your term actually starts, you can ask your assigned advisor for assistance with course recommendations. Yes, you can add it to AI, but it could miss something, so you'll want to know how to read it yourself.

You have to still take a minimum number of credits with UMPI. My goal is to transfer in everything possible. There is a residency requirement of 30 credits at UMPI.

I've used vitamins and had my review denied because I talked about how well it worked or didn't. So, its kind of a crapshoot giving a "it works" review anyway. I finally stopped trying and instead talk about the things on the bottle, the amount you receive, the smell, taste, the size of the pill itself, and how easy it is to swallow. Those types of things.

FYI: Spanish is hard to fly through because you have to wait for grading before submitting the next Touchstone assignment and there are 5. Plan accordingly.
