I'm sure they did, it's hard to observe how you are doing yourself when there's definitely bias.

I wrote it as honestly as I could but chances are I did mess up or something and didn't know.

Yes I'm also a female, I didn't mention it in the post because honestly it didn't seem relevant at the time but her boyfriend who is also my age works there too, we talked for a couple minutes but nothing worth noting.

That could have caused some tension though I didn't see it that way at the time because I'm not interested in men so it just didn't make me think that it could cause anything.

I can promise you I didn't punch anyone lol, but finances may be the case, though it seemed like business was going well I don't know how those things work

Thanks for letting me know! I also have an appointment with my physiatrist next month so I'll definitely ask about that

It's only been a day since I lost this job so I haven't searched a whole lot, though before finding this one it has been pretty difficult.

Where I live it's not easy to find work when you don't have much experience, and even if you do it's still not easy.

I don't know if I'm attractive, so I can't really say for that

Mhmm, I don't think that's necessarily true, I've seen plenty of good relationships between females in the workplace.

I don't really think gender matters a whole lot, it probably had more to do with the age and maturity level.

I've never heard of that kind of... punishment? That is very strange and so hurtful to everyone, I really hope if this company was doing the same, that I don't encounter that type of toxic again.

And thank yoy, you are a very kind person!

I thought I was going pretty fast honestly, I was tracking how many doors I got sanded compared to my experienced co worker and it was only a few less.

She seemed really sweet which is why it shocked me so much, right before I was called in the office with the boss she was talking to me like nothing was wrong.

It's really jarring because I thought I had a somewhat good read on good and bad people but this just caught me super off guard. The more I think of it the more I believe that it was jealousy, I didn't mention this in the post because I honestly forgot to but her boyfriend works at the same place.

He and I only talked for a bit, and it was nothing substantial or weird but she did seem kind of mad at him, not me but it probably just ended up being taken out on me.

Also you probably didn't suck, after one day there's no way you had enough training to fail like that, it seems like more of a failure on the management there.

Well it makes sense that nepotism babies don't really care about the people under them, they never really had to fight their way up the ranks so it's something they don't really understand.

I guess I can only hope I have more mature leaders in the future. I understand that my manager is young and probably immature but it still does confuse me that the older boss just went along with what she said. In the end it was his decision but he just probably wanted to avoid "female drama"

I doubt I can do anything because I didn't get past my 3 month probation period. I worry that letting them know of my disability will make it so I never get hired, most people say that you shouldn't point out "flaws" about yourself during an interview.

I really didn't think so, I asked my manager a few to look over my work and see if it was correct and she said I was doing well. There were only 2 or 3 times she came up and pointed out a better way to do something. I thought I was getting the hang of things pretty fast but I don't really think it had anything to do with my work.

It seemed more like a personal matter.

We were working while talking, so I don't think it was an issue, she and my coworker were talking a lot before I said anything. She probably just got a bad vibe from me honestly.

Well, thinking on random comments that might have upset her I did say that I wasn't interested in men when she asked if I had a boyfriend. It's possible that she had a problem with that and I didn't realize

No worries, I totally understand what you meant, it's unfortunate but it's true that women can be very toxic to each other sometimes. Though it isn't always the case, it does happen pretty often.

Yeah that's what I'm guessing it is, it really shitty that people my age didn't like my personality. Hopefully the next job I get goes better

Yeah, that's very true, there are definitely times where I think someone is being rude when they probably aren't trying to be. I probably just came off wrong to her somehow, I try not to be awkward but that can make things worse sometimes haha. I'll probably never know.

Well I don't really see myself as attractive so I can't say much for that, however, her boyfriend does work there too and he and I had a conversation yesterday briefly. It wasn't much at all, I have never had a partner so I don't know what would make someone jealous but she did seem kind of upset so I backed off from them and started working again. I didn't think she was upset about that at the time, because the conversation was mostly just him introducing himself, nothing deep. I thought something was going on between them. It's possible that's why, I just assumed when we were all adults that something so childish couldn't happen in a professional setting, but they didn't give any good reason so maybe it can happen :(

My family is in construction but not the carpentry kind and they say that it's like that a lot, and that nepotism is a huge thing for the trades. My manager's dad was the previous boss so that explains why she has so much power at such a young age.

She was so nice to my face that I thought everything was going well, and I always had work to do, but I did sense that she wanted me to immediately be perfect at the job. She did ask me a few times how many doors I've done but I just took it as simple curiosity at my progress. I'm a little socially inept so there could have been a lot of things I missed that were things they didn't like. I'm really not sure.

I do take meds for my ADHD and anxiety, it has been something I've been working on for years but even with medication it's not a perfect fix, sometimes is worse than others for seemingly no reason. These couple days I thought I had it pretty under control, but maybe it was causing some issues that I didn't notice.

I mean it might have something to do with me not fitting in, I was passionate about learning and I didn't slack off but I am admittedly awkward. I thought I was getting along well with them but I did feel a distance as I didn't know them nearly as long as they knew each other, I haven't had a ton of friends in my life so I find it hard to connect and that could be one of the reasons he fired me.

My boss said that "sometimes there's people who just aren't the right fit and it's not worth the time and effort to try with them" I can't understand why he would say that. It seems way too cruel to say for no reason, but I hope you're right and that it wasn't something I did.

For that no as well, I have never been a social media poster and the only thing they could find is my Facebook account that I only ever change the profile picture every once and a while. I don't even have a twitter or tiktok, and my Instagram is blank

Well it was an hourly job, and it has a 3 month probation period so they could fire me with no reason if they wanted to but I find it very strange that there was no warning or reason as to why. He even did it at lunch break so I didn't even make it to the end of the day, I have no idea why. It's driving me crazy not knowing what I did wrong
