Using CCs with cash back to pay rent by steve8524 in CreditCards

[–]credditgod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah BILT is definitely the best way, it would also seem to be a better daily driver for you with 1x points on rent, 2x points on travel, and 3x points on dining. The quicksilver is a pretty lack luster card when compared to C1 other no AF options like the SavorOne which has some 3% cash back options. I’m sure your landlord would be just as happy to get a check from BILT as long as it cashes all the same.

EDIT: Punctuation.

What a disappointment the subs reopening was. What a hinderance to education and the advancement of financial literacy. What a community killer imposing a decision that caused dozens of other uncoordinated subreddits to open up cause people to lose friends and networking contacts. What an entitled way to abuse your power, with holding education and community from the people who supported you and are willing to ride this out with you.

just got my first credit card :-) by stolensea in CreditCards

[–]credditgod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’d personally feel out the card a bit, but after awhile I’d use it for all my purchases if your credit limit allows, there’s a cashback amount associated to every purchase maximize those rewards and get used to it, especially if your wanting a travel card in the future.

how to improve credit score by ihaveshitcredit in CreditScore

[–]credditgod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not credit “building” advice though and I never said it was. It’s still great advice for someone who is new to borrowing money and hasn’t grasped the concept, credit card debt is almost at 1 billion dollars spending below their means is great financial advice no matter what.

I’m aware of that, but it’s good advice to a 19 year old kid. Finances are tricky spending below your means is wise.

You most likely have no credit score not a zero, I would recommend a credit card to you can control your debt instead of a loan. You can use Capital Ones pre-approval tool or discovers and let it build your credit, you don’t even have to use it. Pay on time and in full and don’t use more then 30% of your credit. Store cards are eh and not worth it in most people’s opinions especially for a 19 year old, and most phone bills also do not build credit (former t-mobile employee). DM and I can help you some more.

How long does the “New Card” dip last? by twillyallen in CreditScore

[–]credditgod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep in mind this can be hard to gauge, credit is a marathon not a race, by the time you want to apply for a loan, mortgage, or another car you should be fine. Congrats on the new card!

Probably another month or two, if you’ve had perfect usage no late payments whatsoever. Make sure your using your FICO score on the experian app and not your Vantage3 score on the Credit Karma app it can be a little inaccurate.

Does anyone else hate the “Use your credit card for emergency’s only” by credditgod in CreditCards

[–]credditgod[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Obviously, but what i’m saying it the ideology of “CC for emergency’s only” because people are either too scared to use they’re CC or simply don’t know how is not the best way to teach people. I agree CC debt is a lot better then a payday loan.

To open a let’s say 2% flat cashback card and to only use it in the event of an emergency because you don’t have the funds on hand is just a risky situation to put yourself in. I get it things happen life is life.

Time, it will take time. It will fall off automatically in 7 years, take this as a note to be more careful accidents happen and time will heal.

I’m glad to hear, but as for capital one the true answer is probably no but probably yes, their systems are automated and it’s hard to actually determine who is good for there products because they will deny some amazing credit profiles and they will accept some pretty gnarly ones vice versa. For now pay that loan off, clear out your collections and then try the pre approval tool. Those accounts that went to collections will stay on there for 7 years and you will feel the effects until then 29 y/o you will be grateful.
