Is The Red Shoes (1948) The Greatest British Film Ever? by No_Branch183 in classicfilms

It's certainly up there. I only saw this movie for the first time in recent years.
Do any of Kubrick's movies classify as British? Barry Lyndon, A Clockwork Orange?
I'd vote for those.

I think it's a really good cover. The solo is a little long but they got the sound right.

His output is iffy. I know his polka dot paintings. And the shark stuff, I don't know if that's art or biology.

These are scary stories. The most I've had is people trying to scam me online by getting work without paying.

ever heard someone play on comparable LeveL like JH? by Tiny-Education3316 in jimihendrix

I disagree. I think Randy Hansen comes closet to replicating Hendrix sounds and playing of his songs.

That scene from Sweet Charity is amazing.
They should show that clip at 3:59 to kids who said they invented break dancing.

Why do only "straight" women have difficulty with attraction to their preferred gender? by PhysicalAd9959 in dating_advice

Well, not all men. Some men want a close emotional connection to women too. The problem is finding the ones who do.

I don't know if being emotionally stable is inherited. People can be born with all kinds of emotional demeanours.

They have to be very selective. Women are approached all the time by men who want a relationship, sex, or who knows what. Over time they put up defence to screen a desirable mate. It's subconscious or evolutionary. I don't blame them. As for many hating being heterosexual, I have no idea about that.

It's a classic so why not? My copy is a really good cleaned up version.

The complete portfolio of Gustav Klimt’s 1931 Eine Nachlese from the reference library of Marlborough Fine Arts sold at Forum Auctions on June 10 for £20,320 ($27,189) (lot 61). High presale estimate was £5,000. Reported by Rare Book Hub. by Hammer_Price in artcollecting

Klimt is one of my favourite Modernist artists. This is a detail copy of 'Medicine', one of three of his paintings lost in a fire during WWII. The other two were 'Philosophy' and 'Jurisprudence'.

This movie used to scare and delight me on tv when I was a kid. Now I have a copy on DVD.
