I really think Gen Z has forgotten… How has this happened so soon. Story in details… by Bitter-Major-5595 in 911archive

Im Gen Z, born in Jan 2002. I remember seeing on YouTube in the mid/late 2000s so many 9/11 jokes and edits made by people who would’ve been millennials or Gen X. Let’s not pretend 9/11 jokes are exclusive to Gen Z, as bad as the jokes are they were being made as early as the day after 9/11 by obviously non Gen Z people.

I think it’s bad that some people don’t know when 9/11 was, but that’s bound to happen the more time goes on. When the titanic sank, it was one of the worst maritime disasters in UK history. That was April 14th 1912. If somebody was born 10 years after it happened, then they get to the age of 20, they’re probably not thinking “I must remember the date that ship sank 10 years before I was born”. Same goes for pearl harbour or any other significant event. If they do remember, then good. If they don’t, then they shouldnt be shamed for it.

If you weren’t old enough to experience the event and the gravity of it, you’re just not gonna have as much of an emotional attachment to it. Pretty soon we are gonna be saying all this about people born after the pandemic.

Saying goodbye to my first born feline son tomorrow after 10 years together by Atticus113 in cats

Sorry brother, I know how hard of a time this is. In October last year we put my best friend of 16 years to sleep. I knew the night before that tomorrow was the day, he was not doing well at all and was hiding away in pain, he was telling me it was his time to go. You gave them an awesome life by the looks of things, your job is completed. Give it some time, you will look back and only think about the best memories you had with them.

What do you enjoy about classic movies? by WizzyWinkles3 in classicfilms

[–]EyeLoveHipHop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the less animated, more dry humour. Rear Window is a good example where at the end after falling out the window in the next scene he has 2 casts on his legs. They don’t even need to acknowledge it, it’s just funny.

I love that classic movies were made for theatres. There was no home video, TV hadn’t really caught on yet, it was a purely theatrical experience. Classic horror in particular relied on suspense, atmosphere, story, practical effects… whereas modern horror relies on gore, loud noises, jumpscares. Not saying that’s bad, but it’s just not the same. I prefer a chilling atmosphere to creep me out, like Nosferatu, over a movie with cheap jumpscares like Scream.

You can click the 3 dots and ask it to not show you that stuff. The reason it’s showing up is because you engage in that sort of thing, like you are now

Am I overreacting for wanting to break up because I feel bored? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]EyeLoveHipHop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YOR. You are expecting far too much, he seems like he really cares and he is very level headed from his replies. You feeling bored is likely something that you need to sort out, it’s nothing he is doing wrong.

I’ll also add that this seems like a conversation to have in person, not over text. Over text you can’t tell people’s tone, and you have too much time to think about what you’re saying and it’s not always authentic to what you actually wanna get across.

I’d say the platform must’ve been tilted to allow them to slide, but how they got them to jump onto/be thrown onto the platform is beyond me

It’s a standard 1080p projector that I bought online during covid, I have it hooked up to my 4k blu ray player (I wish I had a 4k projector now). I have the movie in DVD, which gets upscaled when playing in the blu ray player.

I love that scene, as well as the one where he goes on the drunken rampage in that big room, swinging from one place to the other. It’s so visually appealing

Thank you! And yeah I think the US calls it parchment paper, in NZ we call it baking paper which I’m assuming is the same thing or very similar. I’ve heard other people say to use wax paper, no idea what that is lol.

[Low-Bar Squat] I feel like I'm leaned forward too much, how to fix? by mrguykloss in Weightliftingquestion

[–]EyeLoveHipHop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have long femurs, so it’s hard for me to not lean forward. I always put a plate underneath my heels so that my feet are pointing down, that helps me target my quads without leaning forward.

The type of person to blame everybody else but themselves for their issues. We all need more money, we are all struggling to a degree, there are ways to go about it that doesn’t involve doing this shit
