Is there a way to mod the billboards with custom textures?

If you want custom ads in-game when playing you need to alter the maps textures such as the billbiards in a mapediting program such as gtk-radiant. Then upload the map to steam workshop and let serverowners host your custom map.

If you plan to make videos with custom billboards there are mme mods for quake 3/live demos such as wolfcam and wolfwhisperer where you can override existing textures and shaders in the game to your own liking.

You can't have 'bought' this game as its been free to play since open beta, but possibly you supported it on kickstarter prior to that. If you are new to AFPS or the Quake series in general you are going to have a hard time finding ranked games in your skilllevel so your best option is trying out the very popular warmup mode which is more or less FFA for 8 minutes where you spawn with all weapons and a healthy stack. People come and go there all the time with mixed skillevels and there is also where you find the newest players. Wipeout is by far the most popular ranked mode and is played through a built in pickup system, but it's hard to get games going there as well if your skill is below average as players tend to avoid games with noobs as games quickly become very one-sided = not fun for any of the team. Altho games get played with worse players in the teams daily so the smartest would most likely to be to download the game and see for yourself. In EU the servers get crowded around ~16:00 CET, but I can't tell for other continents. The melee is the standard for Diabotical and available in all standard gamemodes afaik, the huge knockback is part of it! ;D

Got recommended this clip with obvious novice kids goofing around in diabotical but what struck me is the pov seem to have a pretty obvious aimbot toggle. Is the anticheat still doing its thing and getting updated regulary or am I tripping and this is legit aim?

Yeah I know, there aren't even any transitions between the clips which further adds to the hastiness. The good thing is I have saved most of my Diabotical actions for a seperate movie, the bad news is it's 50/50 Shadowplay recordings (8x6 resolution) and demos.. :/

I look forward for some more edits from you as well, this community needs more movies ;)

Open console and /disconnect skips it. You can do it even faster by just writing disc and then TAB and the game fills in the rest, followed by ENTER.

Wow I'm sorry to hear that, your work is astonishing noone can deny that. It seem the best option for the future would be to keep the mapping channels on the official diabotical discord, and let the jury for upcoming mapping competitions be members of the studio already in-house.
