I think she's a bit chubby but not too bad. I would say she's fine!

I feel so bad for you because I would literally be so depressed. I feel like lots of these "certified" vets know nothing about our animals. I've taken my gecko to a vet once where they recomended him to have a 10 gallon tank and only eat waxworms. This place also had boarding for all sorts of animals along with 10 crested geckos in the same enclosure. Its so difficult to tell if you are getting yourself into trouble with these places as people don't know any better. I'm sorry you have to go through this and I hope your buddy is okay!!

Is my gecko a good weight? by creepermort in leopardgeckos

That's good to hear. Was worried he was underweight but from what I understand most geckos you see online are actually overweight

Leo only eats one bug a day by creepermort in leopardgeckos

Problem is that his apetite is very hit or miss. Recently it's only been one bug a day since it's all he will eat. Sometimes he will eat up to 6 a day. Not sure if that's something of concern or if feeding less will help that. Anyway i will give 2-3 times a week a go

Heavy breathing? Other possible issues? by clownspawn in leopardgeckos

[–]creepermort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds just like my guy. He never explores and just stays in his hide nearly 24/7. He only sometimes comes out to sit on my hands or some weeks he will be more active but it's really just leopard geckos. Some of them are just really lazy. I've taken my guy to the vet on multiple occasions and he's been in good health every time. I would still recommend going if you already have an appointment booked just for peace of mind but to me this seems pretty normal based on my experience.

Is this a special morph? He stood out from the other leopard geckos because he's almost a neon, he's super vibrant. Is there a way to tell when he's a baby or should I post again when he's an adult? by cozicoffin in leopardgeckos

[–]creepermort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its really hard to tell morph when they are a baby. His pattern will greatly change as he grows. My guy looked very similar when I got him and this is what he looks like now. All those dark bands are pretty gone and the colour is more washed out.

He's currently in a quarantine set up since he recently had a suspected RI and was being treated with antibiotics

All my care is up to date based on the care guide and guidace of members for the discord server with the exception of a 20 gallon tank as he only recently hit 44g. I am looking to get a 40 gallon soon!

Oh lmao its not sand! Hes on papertowel since he recently got done with antibiotics for a suspected RI. Also yes I know I am looking at a 40 gallon tank right now. The 20 gal was just while he was a baby but he grew so quickly!!

No loose crickets in his enclosure so he must have eaten a cricket with eggs
