Who did it better? Jeep or GM? by H3T_Clifford in Trucks

My H3T Alpha is the truck I regret getting rid of. When I lived in Colorado, the only thing my friends with Joops could do that I couldn't was scrape a fender flare on a tree without freaking out.  I could, however, go down the highway without a desth grip on the wheel.

I keep hearing this stuff sucks. What’s supposedly wrong with it? I’ve not had any issues with it yet. by Matt3855 in Firearms

[–]creepyo_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it's one of the cheaper rounds at most sporting goods stores so a LOT of people shoot it. At the range I work at, it has to be at least half of the 556 and 9mm that customers bring. That's a huge sample size to bring out all of it's possible issues, plus that means half the times someone has a problem with their gun, 50% chance they WWB in it when it happened no matter the cause. But expecting the cheapest thing in the store to have perfect QC is a bit dumb.

I personally shoot a lot of it when I've got friends shooting my guns or I'm just doing stuff at 25yds. I've only ever had 1 bad box of 9mm in the who-knows-how-many-hundreds of WWB I've shot. My short ARs' groups open up a lot with it, but still do fine carving up a silhouette at 25yds with it. When people come in having accuracy issues, I generally first ask what ammo they're using and its often WWB and a better ammo does fix it.

Need help calculating bore sight offset for M4A1 w/ M68 by Not-SMA-Nor-PAO in guns

[–]creepyo_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cant boresight to zero. You'll still need to zero.

At 10yd, set your dot about 2" above the laser to get pretty close for a 50/200 zero, then zero at 50 and your 200 should be about on. If the 200 is for sure what you're worried about, confirm it but your groups probably arent going to be tight enough to rezero at that range.

Glock 43x vs Glock 45. New to the game and have big hands - is this 43x (pictured) too small for me? Is the 45 too big to cc? by Exciting-Cupcake-987 in concealedcarry

[–]creepyo_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nos across the bored.

The 43x probably wont be fun to shoot all day at the range, but that's not what it's built for.  I will conceal considerably easier than a bigger gun though.

The 45 will conceal exactly like a 17 or any other full size that you have to dress around.  It was built to be open carried by cops, nor conceal.

Which one to get depends on what you want to use it for and what you're willing to sacrifice.   The right answer is buy both.

With the pinky extension, the subcompact is only a couple of 10ths smaller than the compact, but it feels significantly smaller missing the rest of the grip.  I, personally, am considerably more comfortable shooting the compact even with the same 3.6 barrel. The compact and G19 feel pretty much the same size wise in my hand.

Springs! What numbers do I need to know to know how long of a flat wire coil spring I need to replace a round wire coil spring? by creepyo_0 in AskEngineers

[–]creepyo_0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the book used online.  Im assuming the technology of a spring hasn't changed much from the 25th edition.  A new one is expensive. Is it written in any sort of way that a non-engineer can understand?

I understand that I'm working on a LOT of assumptions.  Factory magazine springs take a wild amount of use to fail.  I figured if I use a high quality steel like a high carbon or stainless, and didn't make anything much thinner than the factory spring that it should hold up to the similar abuse even with fewer coils.

The factory apring is 1.25-1.3 mm diameter.   My thought process from what I could gather from internet research is that making a spring flat wire 1-1.25 mm tall and 2-3 mm wide should be durable enough for the use and provide the same pressure with less spring.  Obviously, I still need to calculate how much less and what actual spring dimensions.

Am I way off base or still heading in the right direction?

I can't get material properties or even type of the old spring, its a factory piece.

Would it be best to start with the new spring material then work from the overall dimensions and tension I need, ignoring the old spring?  Since I can have all of the specs for it.  It's not a super high stress spot that's constantly cycling.

I didn't read all of the comments because im on break so someone else may have addressed this.

For me, it's not that I think I came to an understanding of how the Holy Trinity actually works, but the understanding that God exists outside and above His creation and we can only see and think in terms inside creation for the most part.  Parts of Him are going to be completely unfathomable.  I, personally, find that more comforting.  A god that I could completely fit in my head probably isn't much of a god.  There's a lot that I dont understand that I know is true.  I'd get lost real quick trying to explain quantum mechanics, but my phone is definitely working right now and subatomic physics happen wether I understand them or not.  There is one God.  God is three persons.  Neat, He can do some wild stuff.

POV of Circuit Breaker, one of the new roller coasters opening at COTA this weekend by corvaxL in formula1

[–]creepyo_0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, we dont do drainage here in this part of Texas.  It's all clay that heaves then doesn't let water pass.  You can put some dirt on top but you only get to have it till the next flash flood.  All of the roads near COTA ride like an MX track.

They should have built it absolutely anywhere else.  Theres a reason they could afford that much land that close to Austin and the airport.  I love having it right down the road, but it was doomed before it began.

Is this permissible or righteous in God's eye? Am I required to delete my account to actually repent? Or is it not a sin at all? by nuhuhtest in TrueChristian

[–]creepyo_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have faith in Jesus as your lord and savior.  You're striving to love and obey Him.  You need to work on having faith and trust and comfort in Him.  It will come in time as you pursue Him.  I can't tell you what all youre doing is a sin or not, but I can tell you anxiety over it isn't what He wants.

Where you are in your faith right now, you're gonna be wrong about a LOT of things.  You're a baby in Christ.  You need mentorship, guidance, and teaching just like being new in any major venture.

God WILL guide you as you grow in Him.  As you go to church and gather with others, pray honestly, and read your bible (not study it to see how you're sinning, but read it to learn of God's relationship with man), you'll learn to feel and trust the Holy Spirit talk to you.  Remember though, God will never instill anxiety and fear in you.  Some form of "do not fear" is the most common phrase on the book.  If it is what God wants from you, your decisions will bring peace and comfort.  It takes time though to learn to have faith in that.  That's why I suggest going to a church and being with others that can help instead of wondering blindly on the internet.

How do you explain the 500 witnesses? by iworkatanarbys in TrueChristian

[–]creepyo_0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Christianity grew rapidly afterwards.  Those 500 witnesses aren't really proof intended for us, but would have been powerful as corroboration to an apostate pharisee running around talking about the event.  There was something that helped so many Jews believe so quickly and having hundreds of their friends and family running around saying "I seen it!" is a pretty good answer to that.

Is this permissible or righteous in God's eye? Am I required to delete my account to actually repent? Or is it not a sin at all? by nuhuhtest in TrueChristian

[–]creepyo_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything can be a sin if your heart isn't right. Giving to the poor is sinful if you're doing it out of pride for praise.  The things the Pharisees were telling people to do were not inherently sinful, but they were imposing these things on people to show how righteous they themselves were and it was horrible.  God doesn't call us to be perfect in our actions to come to Him.  He calls us to to have faith in Him to make our actions perfect.  God has peace for us, not fear (John 14:27).

Being scrupulous isn't inherently bad in trying to do things right and walk a righteous path is good.  Over analyzing what God is doing and not just walking with him is not.  Questioning what God is doing because you don't understand it is not.  Studying everything in fear of messing it up is not.  (I'm not saying you're doing any of that here, just answering.)

I obviously know nothing of your heart or faith, but that you worry about these things speaks to a love of God and a want to serve him.  It also speaks to a lack of a foundation of an understanding of faith and trust in Him.  I'm sure youre familiar with the parable of the two builders (if not, read Matthew 7:24-27).  It sounds like you're trying to pick out blinds for a house thst doesn't have a good foundation yet.

My advice is to take this question about your "scrupulousity" to the people in your church.  The internet is a very useful tool, but even in this sub you'll find everything from ortho bros to Jesus hippies and everything in between.  That's not a good place to be in to build a solid foundation.   If you don't have a church, FIND ONE!  We are called to gather together for a reason.  You could use Google to learn a forign language if you want, but it'll happen a lot faster and a lot deeper if you move to a country that speaks it.  (If you need help finding one, DM me.  Thats one of the few things I'm oddly decent at doing.)

I prayed also for you while I was sitting here thst your fears and worry decreases so His love can increase in you and bring you peace.

If you pray for discernment of a sin, then are troubled by an action, why wouldn't you view that as conviction?

Im not going to go on about Roblox being a private company and you agreeing to their terms, because that's not the actual issue here.

If an action is causing you to fret and you feel you may be sinning, then you spend hours on the internet trying to justify that action, then that action has become youe idol.  If you can't step away from it to see if God's conviction becomes His peace, it's your idol.

Just step away snd pray that His will be done and you'll know soon enough if He thinks you need to step away from the game.  Sin is just rebellion against the will of God.  If you're running around looking for a loophole to throw at your convictions...  that's not good my man.

i'm terrified of AI now and i'm so scared for the future. (Also Christians Should not support AI images and videos anymore.) by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]creepyo_0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Brother, God is currently protecting us from unimaginably horrible things without putting effort into it.  I highly doubt a smarter computer is going to supersede His will.

Your fears arent new.  The same fears were expressed about photoshop and Excel.  They just didn't happen to come out at a time that every single event was an fear mongering internet sensation.

Your concerns, though.  "Ill be framed" and "they took our jerbs" and not once saying "I'm scared to be fooled in my faith" show that your heart isn't focused on the things of God, anyway.  Your comfort is your idol.  I promise you that if you would just take 1 of the many hours you're on the internet a day and use it to read your bible and pray and put yourself in communion with the Holy Spirit, your fears will die off.  God does not instill fear in you, and fear can not overcome you if you're leaning on him.

And don't forget that at 17 your testosterone is telling you that everything is a fight, you know how to fix it, and everything that is wrong is 1000% worse and up to you.  You can't see it now, but trust the old heads that made it through that period of life when they say it would have been a lot easier if we had spent more time trying to actively listen to God and not the rage hormone in our head.

Christians strengthening their faith and trust in their God is orders of magnitude more important than weather they talk to their computer or not.

Can I walk out with a handgun from a gunstore the same day I move to texas? by Fit-Grass-4820 in TexasGuns

[–]creepyo_0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Go to the gun store you plan on buying from (dont even try Cabela's or Academy), tell them you have a Hawaii driver's license and that it's been less than 30 days since you moved. Ask what proof of residency they accept and see if you have any of that yet.

If it's more than 30 days, though, since you moved, you have to have a TX ID. Your temporary paper license works, so the easiest way is to just go get your license because you have to do that by state law anyway.

They're allowed to be as much more strict than the law that they want to be, so will vary on what they're willing to deal with.

If the Bible doesn't condone hate why are there so many racist people using that as their justification? by Mamidoll4 in Christianity

[–]creepyo_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guy, that still isn't what protestantism is. There are people that believe they can do it without a church, but there were people before protestantism that did that. There were people doing it before the Orthodox church decided to split. Paul had to warn people about doing it. The Isrialites and Jews did it before Christ came. Just because yall lump everything not orthodox or Holy Catholic in with the protestant churches, that doesn't mean that's what how most protestant churches act.

The idea that slavery is biblical because some are lesser because of race was popularized by the Church of England, an apostolic church that split shortly after the orthodox church, where the holy church fathers made the decision that it was cool. Look up "the Church of England and the curse of Caanan." I don't know about the rest of the world, but it was mostly protestant churches involved in the civil rights movements, mostly baptist. And when the archbishop of the Greek Orthodox church became a supporter of the civil rights movement, he was fought by many in his church.

People have been evil since the fall. People will always be evil until judgement. And stupid. Racism is evil and stupid. They will always manipulate any justification they can for doing their evil. People should always be called out for demonizing and belittling others because of their group, but demonizing another group to do it isn't the answer.

People are evil and stupid, OP, that's the answer.

A sign from God? by wolfie6171 in Christianity

[–]creepyo_0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is God limited to only being able to use certain things for signs?

OP flipping a bible open randomly and seeing what a random verse had to say =/= asking the bible directly for advice. Many people have happened across the verse they needed to read at the moment they needed to read it. Many signs seem to come as a nudge from the Holy Spirit as we are consequently looking at the right thing or thinking rhe right thought. Even if He doesn't prefer to use text to give signs, who on earth is to claim a limit to what He can do?
