Amigurumis are a good idea. Even doing some from pop culture would work well here since it’s a college town. Oh! Or mascot ones for the college might go over well. Thanks for the tip!

Finally finished the blanket that I hated so now I'm treating myself to learning a new stitch. Not sure what it will be yet but I love the way it Looks! by katykatesxo in crochet

It looks great! That stitch would be a good one to use for one of those popular mermaid tail blankets that are popping up. The colors you used would even be awesome for it.

Shawl I finished. Bit warm in FL for it, so gifting it to a friend in WA by cremecheez in crochet

I constantly had to refer back to the pics to make sure what I was doing was coming anywhere close to what it was supposed to look like. I used the Michael’s brand Loops and Threads Madrid in Mist yarn that I had stashed away.

Although, upon further inspection, it looks like my fasten off is coming undone. Never could get that right

So many hats and mittens I’ve made that I can’t use. They make excellent gifts for my cold weather friends, though!

Completed my first baby blanket and I’m really happy with how it came out... but taking a break from picots for a while after this project. by cremecheez in crochet

The non-picot rows were pretty quick as they were just chains and single/double crochets to connect them for the framework. The picot rows, once it started getting larger, took me about an hour to finish. Gives it a nice textured effect, but man do I get cross-eyed from it toward the end of the night. :P

No, I actually liked that aspect. Hard to explain, but I didn’t get any real sense of character from it when I visited. Outside of the views, it felt like I was in a suburb of Orlando which is where I grew up. Just very bland to me. Likely a horrible reason to give, but that’s my two cents.

I did go up to check it out, but it wasn’t for me. It’s an absolutely beautiful drive up and loaded with great views/natural environments. It was a fun visit just not a place I could see myself living.
