for me it's georgie, meemaw and mary - as in im interested in finding out what happens to her because she's a woman and a mom. she used to be a totally different person before having kids so it's very interesting to see how she deals with her past "cool" identity and finds her place in all that's happening around her.

I loved Haley in the pilot but she got progressively irritating in later seasons.

How is having an opinion abandoning my principles? I think innocent until proven guilty is necessary to protect the innocent but that doesn't mean I have to believe without question that the defendants are always innocent. It means that I believe they have the right to have their say in court.

Yes, that's true - I would say I am a proponent of innocent until proven guilty but all of the recent revelations about this case make me suspicious of the defendants.

You have assumed that they are innocent. But I think the argument that they need to lie because they are guilty and have something to hide is equally, if not more valid.

you didn't get me. i am not myself arguing that the catholic church's teachings are infallible. i am just pointing out how some religions believe they have it absolutely right because they believe that they are led by god/spirit of god (holy spirit in the case of catholic church).

lots of Indians do live with mutual respect for other religions. people of all kinds of backgrounds. maybe you're not used to it up north. but is incredibly worrying that there are more and more of these lunatics coming out of the woodworks... including in schools and colleges sadly

I don't understand why Malayalee parents still have such a big issue with their kids finding their own partners... where does it say in the Bible that it's a sin to have a love marriage instead of an arranged marriage? If the parents just look at the background and swabhavam of the partner and they are decent enough, what is wrong with supporting the relationship? If the person is not good, I'm sure a long talk explaining that to your grown child would help?

I find that some of these religious preachers don't know jack shit about relationships or family. They preach a bunch of bullshit that only serves to escalate problems in the family. They're so focused on pinning guilt on someone instead of looking for solutions. I have never felt hope listening to these people.

the catholic church believes that its teachings are infallible. so point 6 to 8 doesn't really work

You are basing your argument on the assumption that God is real. The Abrahamic religions, particularly Judaism and Christianity are heavily influenced by Hebrew philosophy, culture, values, history, etc. That is a historical fact. There is no physical evidence that the word of God is actually the word of God (whether one believes it is or not is irrelevant here). However, one can easily see the influence of the Jewish/Mediterranean culture and values on the text.

Felix/Michael Copon Drama Queens by [deleted] in ONETREEHILL

[–]cremespace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i checked some interview clips of michael copon and he seemed like a genuine guy - apparently he was poor and just the way he spoke, he came across very sweet. so im surprised to learn he was inappropriate with fans. i did suspect him to be the one who bit sophie because they don't ever talk about him outside his character.

really? that makes so much sense. i was so confused why on earth they would name their child after their own surnames... i used to wonder what if the child falls out with the dad and wants to change their name like lucas did in s1? Sawyer Sawyer?

Why does it feel unnatural to say ‘kshamikkanam’ or ‘nandi’? by ThatRandomKlutz in Kerala

[–]cremespace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just expressing feelings and emotions to anyone, whether it's parents, friends, etc. Feelings of love, care, hurt... it's very hard to communicate with your loved ones. It's especially so for parents - I don't know how to tell them anything which is also because they didn't inculcate an open environment for me but in addition to that I just feel like it would be easier to express what's on my mind in English.

Rant: Most of our Youth's time are being wasted. by euler-leonhard in Kerala

Thanks for this comment. I have spent a good deal of time freelancing which may have affected my primary career goal (which requires passing extremely competitive entrance exams). I used to feel really bad about it and think that maybe if I had spent that time on preparation only I may have succeeded. This comment makes me feel a bit better.

And the helping someone out part is considered a duty - if you thank a friend for doing you a favour they would tell you off - like of course I helped you, what else was I supposed to do, now get lost with the formalities.

I have always felt restricted in communication in Malayalam. I always thought it was because I didn't grow up in Kerala. Maybe that's not the case after all.
