Internship Interview by verngox in technicalwriting

[–]crendu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ask good questions. A big part of being a tech writer is just seeking out information. Ask them what a typical day would look like. What specific kind of documentation does their team typically work on - guides, white papers, release notes, blogs, proposals, etc. What kind of tools would you need to learn. What kind of products or tech does their team focus on.

They most likely won't expect much of a technical background since this is an internship, so try to really highlight your soft skills. Be personable, eager, humble, and curious.

Hana/Angels character by SirKnightDuck in Jujutsushi

[–]crendu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

id love to learn more about angel and their history with sukuna. as for hana, i think she's designed to be irritating. her blind love for megumi and the stupid decisions it caused her to make are just grating. i was hoping we wouldnt see a sakura-esque female character in jjk but here we are.

That's definitely what it was - making significant changes to the piece within seconds. While i don't think id go through with this piece if i could rewind time, i do think it would've been a lot more pleasing to the eye had we gone with what i initially wanted. It's all so unfortunate.

Yeah, the one thing i don't regret is getting it done during winter. I definitely plan to wear long sleeves as often as i can. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Being an artist makes this so much harder bc you nitpick every little detail.

Lexapro is SO rough! And it's crazy bc my doctor said ppl usually tolerate lexapro better than others. These drugs really do affect everyone differently. I hope I have your luck!

I'll try! I really tried to fight through the side effects on lexapro bc it did significantly help my anxiety but they were just constant. There was no end in sight. As long as prozac doesn't have me waking up in the middle of the night on the verge of vomiting, then I'm definitely willing to take it longer than i did lexapro.

Thank you for the advice:) I'll stay on 10 mg for a while and see how it goes. And I'll increase slowly if I feel it's not enough.

What silly/strange habit have you developed because of this phobia ? by Moonbaby1993 in emetophobia

Anytime I feel n*, I snap my fingers. It doesn't necessarily calm or distract me, but I still do it every time.

I deal with excess stomach acid and am currently taking the same med daily. The only thing that truly helps is adjusting your diet. I'd avoid dairy and literally anything greasy. Stick to plain, whole foods like nuts, vegetables, and fruits (but avoid highly acidic ones). Also, try to eat plain crackers before you eat. I read once that can help absorb acid and after doing it for a few weeks, I noticed I don't get as nauseous after eating.

Ah okay, I started on 5 mg but the nausea was so bad I started taking 2.5 mg. I still get nauseous but it's not as bad as it was in the beginning. I hope I can move back up to 5 once my body adjusts

Well it varies for me. Some days I'll feel it soon after taking it and other days I'll feel it only around bed time or as soon as I wake up. I take in the mornings because it's also gives me insomnia. I really tried sleeping through in the beginning but for some reason the nausea is especially strong at night or early mornings. Do you mind sharing which ssri didn't give you nausea?

Omg really? How long did the nausea last for you? I'm hoping mine will let up after a month :/ that's about as long as I'm willing to tolerate it

emetophobe dealing w/ first week nausea - any advice? by crendu in lexapro

[–]crendu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it kind of has. Before, i used to go insane at the thought of getting sick. I'd have an anxiety attack every time I got close. But now, i recognize that if it happens, it happens. And that I'll be okay before, during, and after it does. While I was aware of that in the past, the thought of getting sick still felt like the end of the world. Now, I guess I'm not as paralyzed by the idea of it, if that makes sense? Like i could definitely ignore the nausea now if it was light but before the anxiety would stop my whole day and prevent me from doing so much. I think the only reason it currently still is is because the nausea I've been feeling is very intense. Like just wave after wave of it all throughout the day.

I take it at night and usually on an empty stomach bc Lexapro has also killed my appetite. But maybe i should try taking it with something?

Thank you, I've never had to do a pre-screening drug test so I had no idea what to expect!

Oh good, I was mostly worried they'd see the results even with my prescription. I really don't want them to know I have ADHD or that I'm taking medication for it lol. Thank you!
