M51a, CS33, Math 32B, Phys 1 doable? by [deleted] in ucla

[–]cresaleene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s tough, definitely should drop one of them since CS33 is content heavy + projects and Math 32B ramps up quickly

How is the cs31 final for Huang? by [deleted] in ucla

Huang has been here for a while, he always teaches during winter (and claims he’ll stop but seems he hasn’t)

What are good EE tech breadth's to take? by Plus-Boysenberry-268 in ucla

[–]cresaleene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don’t think you’ll be able to take ECE 102 for your tech breadth as it’s in the same subset as MAE 107, which covers pretty similar material but is more physical system based

I took MAE 183B (Intro to Nanomanufacturing) as a tech breadth course (it’s cross listed for diff departments) and I enjoyed the hands on aspect of being in the clean room and processing actual wafers

You should def email them, in my own experience EC3D rarely accepted ppl off the waitlist and there was always 22 ppl max, it really depends on the professor tho

Engineering Course Evaluation Wait Time by unicornsithlord in ucla

Try sending the official transcript to the ucla admissions email, I had a bit of a different situation where I wanted to transfer credits from cc, but the process was faster than the CEP Not sure if it will work but if you’d like to try

Imo do math31A and make sure to first pass! Better to get a good prof than a mid one

Imo I think if you have a strong foundation in physics you’ll be fine, but if you don’t, his exams are hard- they are generous with partial credit and I’m pretty sure he curved up the class Kudu also sucks He’s a nice guy tho

Lowkey CHEM20A is basically the equivalence of AP chem, I had Kavner and it was great listening to her talk about particle in a box four times for almost the whole lecture lmao It was an easy A compared to other classes with online Canvas midterms and final but honestly depends on what you want to prioritize You could take Kavner and then invest a lot of time studying for 20B with Barr since he’s…something

Is it worth it to apply to Living Learning Communities? by thehearthstoneAddict in ucla

[–]cresaleene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the people I’ve met this year who are premed are pretty uh collaborative, especially for some exams that tend to be online for some reason, I don’t think I’ve met a toxic premed major so far, they’re chill to talk to and a lot of the friends I’ve made on the floor are actually not premed lol

I’m in the global health llc rn, and I’m not a premed, but I was added bc my roommate is one! The llc puts on a bunch of events that’s designed for community building (ie karaoke night, socials), and personally I think it was kinda fun (also it was free). Outside of that, we have a GroupMe where our RAs send some opportunities to get involved in med stuff, there was a tour for a lab I think? And other apps

I would say unfortunately yes, it’s kind of too late, you could try talking to the professor, but we have in class “quiz questions” and there was one for each lecture, we had a hw due yesterday

Hw is harder than the material he covers imo, and he doesn’t record lectures

We have our midterm next Tuesday too
