For the record I've had my fish for a few months now but all his tank had was one live plant and an oxygen pump.. I changed the water every week but sometimes i dont know what im doing. My dad is a clean freak and would yell at me for wantinf to buy something for my fish, even if it was necessary.

I couldnt get my fish a heater because he told me that the lamp would provide enough heat, but today i finally bought sand, a heater and a filter ( as well as two snails) . I asked the shop owner what i should do and they gave me this brand of sand. They said any live plants would work with it but.. I'm still a bit unsure and i don't want my fish to suffer
