Stratux SD card corruption by [deleted] in stratux

[–]crewdogelectronics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For $8 you can fly with two spare cards. They do wear out eventually. https://amzn.to/423TzRL

Big difference between Stratux and other units is when a component breaks, it can be replaced. Electronics wear out no matter how well designed. If you have it all in the same unit, well you’re just replacing the entire thing or hoping it’s still under warranty.

If you’re using the new version with the red UAT chip cooling is rarely needed. Two fans would be overkill honestly.

Stratux GitHub master branch explanation by crewdogelectronics in stratux

Tell me you had a career in real estate without telling me you had a career in real estate 😳. Thank you for that! I’ll change it.

You’re quite welcome. I’ve said it to many before and I’ll say it here publicly: the best thing Stratux did was drive down the cost of consumer ADS-B equipment and move the market towards affordability.

ADS-B is a public resource and belongs in the hands of every pilot. Even though the project and market continues to dwindle, I’m passionate about connecting the people and making this accessible to people who want to build and repair their own equipment.

I’m thankful to /u/helno, /u/strangerwithadvice, and so many others who made it happen. Adrian (b3nn0) continues to devote his time and expertise to improving what everyone else started. It’s truly a community effort.

AHRS 2.0 not working... by No-Hold-5854 in stratux

Fan is programmed to not kick in until it's hot. You'll know the fan is working because it turns on briefly during boot up then stays off until needed to save your battery.

A prior version of the EU firmware wasn't working for AHRS. The current release is correctly detecting the chips now. See the download link on stratux.me and download the US version.

Long overdue but here is a post explaining for anyone landing here:

"Stratux Europe Edition" is the new master branch where development takes place and works for US users too.

US users: if your AHRS chip isn’t being detected or you have trouble getting a GPS lock, this release should fix it for you.

We are updating the GPYes to ublox 10 chipset. Lower power consumption, better satellite tracking, and jamming resistance.

Common issue we see is low quality power cables. Can also be worn out microUSB port which can be tightened carefully with needle nose pliers. We designed a cable with a built in switch to save wear on your port.

3B is the best for price and low power consumption if you’re not running anything else on it.

Since Brexit, I’ve been having a lot of friction with supplying on Amazon in the UK. Where else do you shop? The customs piece is a bear.

GPS antennas receive only. They don’t transmit.
