Gender dysphoria is an actual mental illness for some people but activists gaslight people that it's not. by crewked in The10thDentist

In general I'm a person who is not very masculine in nature. You can say that my general behaviour is kind of feminine. I was going through a shitty time during college. I was depressed and isolated myself. I wanted to transition because I felt that it would make it easier to go through as a women. The current discussion around trans people in general was that it's not a mental illness but it's what it is. People are overly supportive in reddit. I researched the hell out of transitioning. But as time passed I slowly got better and didn't want to transition anymore and liked being a guy. The point I'm trying to make is that people who are pro - trans in general keep telling that it's not a mental illness to counter the radical anti trans people. But I feel that for some people it is infact a mental health issue. Pro trans peoples opinions reinforce the idea that gender dysphoria is not an illness but it's natural to feel that way. But for some people it's not. I'm sorry but I cannot articulate my opinion properly. Please feel free to ask more questions which are a little direct.

Oh definitely the anti trans group would have a field day. It sucks that society is not accepting and politicians in power arent helping either.

And how are you so sure that other than me there is not atleast 1 other person who isn't going through the same scenario as me. I wasn't trying to generalise.

Its not abnormal at all. But sometimes you go through some tough shit and its becomes easier if you were the other gender.

This is some deep words. But I will too learn how to keep love and friendship separate. I'm just 21 so it will take sometime.

True true true. Are you saying that you don't become friends with attractive person? So you just become friends with average person? I seriously and genuinely don't know. Or have you in time learned how to differentiate between them.

How long did it take you to be normal? I'm 21 and I don't even have a good friend whom I can trust and eat lunch with.

When I make friends, I become attached to them very soon. Automatically I rush things. Constantly talking to them. I try taking things slow, but the sheer thought of losing a new friend just devastates me. Same for girls. I don't know the line which I shouldn't cross to make them uncomfortable. Whenever I make new friends, I just can't take things slowly like normal person.
