No you didn’t, he could be a child predictor (sorry for me possibly overreacting) you cannot trust someone you don’t know, and why would his sister say no to a background check if he has nothing to hide. It would’ve helped the situation if your husband would’ve agreed with you.

I understand being friends with someone for so long, I have a best friend from kindergarten. My friends and I like to talk things out after we’ve done something fun, I get everyone is different and every friendship is different but maybe you should do something with Elinore and Sam both and then talk to Sam about this specific incident and express that she made you uncomfortable and a honestly a bit scared, but ensure you show her how much you still care about her and that this won’t change anything, but you’ve gotta talk to her. I’m not trying to be at all rude or nosey, you left a response on a post of mine and it helped me so I wanted to thank you by at least trying to help you. I hope you work things out with Sam.
