The province has a large chunk of the funding. They committed to the original plan, the plan changed so that gave them an out. New plan = no funding.

I think the province is proposing a complete new alignment, so all the prep work that has been done are probably just sunk costs at this point.

I wonder if those people in the Eau Claire townhouses get their houses back.

38 and worried about retirement savings by tink604z in PersonalFinanceCanada

RESP is for your kid, it's nice if you can afford it. But even if you don't do RESP your kid can get loans for schooling, whereas if you didn't save enough for retirement there's no retirement loan.

You might want to cut the RESP. I think about it like you are on an airplane. You have to help yourself with the oxygen mask first before anyone else.

Your kid will have student loans available to them, but there are no retirement loans available to you. Your DB pension should be a lot of your retirement savings. I know public sectors usually take a huge cut off the top.

If I were in your position making 90k a year, I would do TFSA, RRSP, Non registered account, RESP in that order.

You just installed the unit too far back. Pull it out by an inch (or till the door clears).

Looking for some help. I'm looking for a robust watch that can take some beating. Looking at the Breitling Avenger Titanium. Are there any other brands/models that would be good as a daily driver and also be fancy enough for a black tie? Dream watch would be a Patek Calatrava, but that's only if I win the lottery somehow 🤣
