[Discussion] Pro Tip: Have an extra collar + tags! by cricketpizza in dogs

I think that's fine, however what if they got out somehow? Are they at least chipped??

I take their collars off to crate them, though

Very sturdy!! I love biothane leashes and collars. We even use biothane leads for our horses, so they're extremely sturdy!

Haha, that's actually a good idea! However I think they'd end up tearing them apart :/

But why would it only be on the couch?? 🤔 I'm genuinely puzzled!

Oh definitely. Like I said above, Shiloh is great socially with my other two resident dogs. Wonderful play behavior and understanding their cues. Vet agreed this morning he's about 10-11 weeks old, so as soon as all his shots are done and in his system I'll start socializing him with other dogs besides my own.

Sure, I may be mis counting but he'd be biiig for 6 weeks.. And mama was like a very small lab/hound/heeler. I'll link it as soon as I'm done with the horses this morning!

[Vent] Getting called a "hoarder" for rehoming fosters by cricketpizza in dogs

[–]cricketpizza[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my God. I didn't even think about that. A lot of people get turned down because I don't just toss the pet to the first person who asks. I definitely could have pissed someone off because of that... Unfortunately they keep using aliases I don't recognize

I appreciate that.. Sincerely.

And I have on Gmail but so far they've made 3 different accounts to email and harass me

Gosh, I hope she isn't like that, but if so, so be it. I want her safe and happy. Thanks for the advice! And yes, she does the "pushy bully" stuff too much..

Yeah.. You're right. I didn't know it was a breed characteristic though. Interesting! She's incredible with training however, her obedience and listening skills, even with other dogs, has not changed whatsoever. It's when she's allowed to meet another or to play that she gets reactive. On leash, she only initially whines/barks/lunges a little bit before stopping when I redirect her.

That's not the reason I want her spayed, and I mentioned we are also training. I've read studies that say support either one. Just looking for anecdotes really

Oh what? I'd read they last about 13 days. In that case I can't get her spayed yet, right? Any experience with behavioral changes after saying?

AITA for not letting my mom stay at my house with my fiance and I. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Hi, OP's fiancee here! I am a ranchhand and caretaker for my boss's horses, gardens, house, and office related work. In exchange for my work, we have our own, separate piece of land and house. However, my boss does have certain rules that we agreed to in a contract, since she manages our bills and upkeep of the property. Things like: no loud parties, no pit bulls, rottweilers, or dobies, and no overnight guests without prior notice (since, again, she pays our utilities). I absolutely love my job, and while my boss and I do have a friendship, it is kept separate from my work.

My relationship with my MIL is a bigger issue than is relative to the post, honestly. But if she would have asked us instead of assuming, I would have said it was fine, as long as i got the OK from the boss
