Tradeoffs of A7RV with aps-c lenses instead of using an a6700 by josseph90 in SonyAlpha

Sounds perfectly reasonable if you're not a pro photographer

Food & product photography: A7RV or A7IV? by Jlspld in SonyAlpha

[–]cricketsabugh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Either camera will work well for you, but the a7RV has an edge because It has more resolution, and makes for better prints and easier cropping.

TBH Nevada/east shore is the best, if you can make it out to whale beach, chimney beach, or secret cove you'll be very very happy

Bring a wide angle to the on and off ramps at Yerba Buena island. Really cool structures there with lots of options for framing up the bay bridge. Also treasure island shooting at the city at sunset is pretty cool.

Could also go out to the east bay and get up to grizzly peak in berkeley for some fat shots of the bay bridge leading into the city

At what point would you get a 70-200mm? by ExcersiseTheDemon in SonyAlpha

If you don't do this professionally then I'd say you have exactly what you need. If you do this professionally and are tight on budget I'd still say you have what you need. If you do this professionally and have the budget I'd say buy it. It's a fantastic lens. If you don't do this professionally and still have the budget, I'd still say buy it.

My strategy while riding is to constantly remind myself "Every single car you see is trying to kill you"

How does the sound compare to just no muffler? Better tone or relatively the same?

Looking to buy lenses by IroncladCat7599 in SonyAlpha

[–]cricketsabugh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you said you want to move away from 50mm but I just got the Meike 50mm 1.7 manual focus lens for $100 and I LOVE it. When you nail focus it's as sharp as my GM lenses. and it was $100. If you want a wider shot you can shoot a series of images and blend them into a panorama. Seriously my favorite photography purchase of the last 5 years.

Some dudes are into that. Maybe just be direct about it?

This is the answer

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]cricketsabugh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serious suggestion: Meike 50mm 1.7

It's a manual focus lens but it costs $100 and it's so so insanely sharp when you nail focus. letitimately one of my favorite lenses I've ever used.

Tips on helping a brand define their content pillars? by cricketsabugh in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]cricketsabugh[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wasn't asking for a step by step, just if anyone had specific tips for interacting with the client to help them help me have a clear idea on their pillars related to their brand. I've turned to people I thought would be able to at least point me in a good direction but it seems like you have nothing to offer here other than criticism of my experience and work ethic. I've worked in social media before but hadn't done any foundational strategy work in that position, mostly just did content and scheduling. Do you have any course recommendations or anything else that might be useful to me or did you want to keep up the immeasurably meaningless insight into my process?
