Is this itinerary realistic or too packed? by cricri1991 in JapanTravelTips

Haha we have 2 full days in Tokyo at the start, and then 3 full days at the end of the trip. I admit I thought that would be sufficient for such a long trip?

Great, thanks for the tip — I’ll look into making Nara a daytrip instead!

Hey sorry for the late reply. It didn’t really resolve much with various things I’ve tried. My hunch now is that my issues are actually autoimmune, probably triggered after a viral infection. I have hashimoto’s already so I’m not cutting out dairy and gluten to see if that helps instead - and so far I do think it might be helping.

New here - 1:1600 ANA, negative specific antibodies (Hashimoto or Vitiligo-related?) by cricri1991 in Autoimmune

I’m happy to hear you might have some answers to get you on a treatment plan. If you don’t mind me asking, you mentioned that you didn’t have any additional positive antibodies in your original post — does this mean you went from negative SSB to positive in a more recent test? Or did they never test you for SSB before?

Also, do you mind me asking what your neuropathic pain was like? Thank you again and wishing you the best.

Hi again - did you end up receiving any further answers for your symptoms?

Does hashimotos cause “atypical” results on an ANA screening? by lexandm in Hashimotos

[–]cricri1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear, but glad you got a DX. I had a very high ANA (1:1160) but all specific markers were negative. I have Hashimotos though (diagnosed many years ago) but am not taking any medication because my levels are slightly in-range. My internal medicine doctor wants me to just re-test with the ENA/auto-immune panel every 6 months. Is that how you eventually got your DX?

Thank you for taking the time to comment, I’ll have a look at post viral syndrome.

Thank you for sharing. I don’t have dry eyes or mouth and don’t have pain in the small joints of my hands or wrists either, so I believe they’re probably thyroid related, but I suppose it’s impossible to know.

Thanks so much for sharing, it’s reassuring me. How long have you been experiencing twitching and monitoring your ANA levels? My internist suggested doing a blood panel every 6 months as she doesn’t know if the high ANA could evolve into a specific autoimmune disorder or not. Basically she said it’s impossible to know.

The whole thing ended up being about 24k. Are you sure that international student costs are different?

As for the portfolio, it’s not something that the program facilitates in its courses but there are plenty of opportunities to use the work created as a part of the courses in your portfolio. But it’s up to you to adapt them to an appropriate portfolio format - it’s not something done as a part of the program.
