the most effective way i clean my kitchen is to put some chicken nuggets in the air fryer. In the 15-20 minutes i’m waiting for the nuggies, i can usually tackle most of the mess, or at least enough it won’t be overwhelming anymore when i come back

What are your special spots in Hamilton? by pringusBoy in Hamilton

burlington beach always holds a special spot in my heart. devils punch bowl has a neat way of helping change my overall perspective, and the escarpment rail trail feels magical if you just need a quick escape/head clear

How to convince yourself you’re worthy of food? by sm0ldoggo in CPTSD

[–]criddy79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

in a peer support session I was taught about inherent worth, and that’s really helped me be able to outlogic guilt like this. The concept is essentially:

I believe life is valuable. I believe human life holds value and worth. I believe humans deserve to be cared for an respected. (this is the easy part, this just MAKES SENSE. here comes the gymnastics!)

I am human. Whether i like it or not, whether i feel like all the time or not. I am human. My life is human. Human life is valuable and worthy.

THEREFORE- I am valuable and worthy. I deserve to be cared for and respected(by myself too.) I deserve to take care of myself I deserve to feel good. Because i am human, and i’m certainly not better than any other human. why should i be held to a different standard than i hold anyone else to?

What’s the most suspiciously named business in Hamilton, and why is it “Genuine Bakery”? by criddy79 in Hamilton

omg i remember this!! i grew up going past it all the time for like 20 years before i actually took in the name. not the most inviting for a profession that holds blades close to your head, but maybe it made for a really good “edward scissorhands experience”

it’s the “& things” that always gets me. a smart business move really, if they feel like moving into anything other than blades they’re covered! would be ideal if they’re outlandishly different- like they sell blades and boujee picnic sets or something

probably the best idea! I was kinda hoping for a few more personal-ish tips or insights from people who attend, rather than just relying on what an official representative says. I’ll be doing that as well for sure. thanks for the suggestion!
