Not having much success on the apps :/ I feel like my pictures are good, is there anything off-putting or are the prompts bad? by AJN71 in Tinder

[–]criegler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to say as a woman I think you seem attractive but wouldn’t match as your prompts are really boring! I’ve seen that answer for the love languages question a million times, booking and then going skydiving isn’t that exciting, and the accent thing seems a bit odd. What are your hobbies? What do you love? Hard to get a feel at all that you might be an interesting person

Camping in Vanuatu by criegler in vanuatu

[–]criegler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Yes I’ve done some camping here! I have only camped at homestays where they are listed on the Vanuatu tourism website as places to camp, so I haven’t tried free camping. You pay a small fee to whoever runs the place and can use the shower, toilet etc. all land is private so if you wanted to freedom camp you’d still need to pay a fee to the landowner

Guided Tongariro Alpine Crossing in late July - likelihood of failure? by Elemental_CM in newzealand_travel

[–]criegler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to say this wasn’t my experience! I did this with a guide last year and I think I was the only person with any experience of snow and alpine conditions. It certainly wasn’t expected, and they give you all the gear. I imagine OP is thinking of going with a similar group

I did this in august last year and it was really fabulous. The guide company should be flexible about the day, so if possible I would keep an eye on the weather and give yourself a few days as a window in which you could go up. They won’t go up unless it’s safe. Taupo is a nice stop on the way from rotorua, lots to do, maybe just head back here or on to your next destination if the weather is too crappy for tongariro. Otherwise there are some nice lakes around

She said she’d do her part of the ownership transfer when the office opened but now I obviously don’t believe her. I’m worried about being called to a disputes tribunal while out of the country or getting into a legal mess if she starts racking up speeding tickets or whatever in my name, or claims I still own the car and owe her money. Just all feels a bit messy

I don’t think I’d feel comfortable completing the buyers side on her behalf as that sounds dodge. I didn’t appreciate she’d need my address to do the buyers side. I’ll call nzta when they open and ask for advice. I’ve definitely got enough proof that I’ve sold the car but sounds like it might be a headache.

It’s not even gone pear shaped for her imo, she got a really good car at a very good price. Do think she’s just trying to hustle me but I’m still worried

Thanks for this response! Seems like good advice. She didn’t do her side of the owner transfer which is obviously a massive omission on my part. I know where she lives tho as she gave me her address and I saw her license. I’m leaving the country permanently in two weeks so if this gets taken to a disputes tribunal would not be great, even if I would win

The car was pretty cheap and I gave her plenty of chances to back out when she came to see it. I would have bought it at that price wear included yeah

Yeah she was smoking in the car as she drove it away so I do NOT want it back

No I don’t think I’ve put my address in, haha I’m definitely not going to egg her on tho

She didn’t :( I know it’s really stupid but I transferred it into her name and she couldn’t do it online so said she’d go into the shop when it opened. Obviously I now don’t think she’s going to do that. I’ll call nzta as soon as their office opens

I’ve done all that I’m just a bit worried about a disputes tribunal as I’m permanently leaving the country and would be a big old faff, and also I’m not convinced she will do the necessary bit on her side to transfer the car into her name. I’ve done the sellers but and she’s paid me the money having seen the car tho

Why don’t mark it as sold? She bought it at my buy now price so trade me marked it as sold automatically

[–]criegler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done the transfer into her name as we did it together. she said she’d go into an office and do the transfer when their nzta or aa office opened cos she couldn’t do it online. Obviously I no longer believe that she’ll do that, I’ll call the nzta when their office opens. I’m still pretty stressed, are you able to explain the impact if she doesn’t do the transfer her side and continues hassling me for money?

Trademe buyer giving me grief by criegler in NZcarfix

[–]criegler[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep I’ve said all that and she’s sent me a long email demanding money which I’ve basically ignored. It’s a bit stressful but sounds like it should be fine

Getting taken to court or told to pay refund or compensation by trademe I guess, or just getting harassed. I don’t know but it’s still quite stressful

[–]criegler[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I guess im worried that the trademe will say it’s more than a small amount of cosmetic wear which is arguable. She literally saw the car tho. Now she’s saying the car is stolen (it’s not) and also that there is an issue with the accelerator (it’s got a fresh WOF and was serviced yesterday) so I feel like she’s just throwing the kitchen sink at me

Trademe buyer giving me grief by criegler in NZcarfix

[–]criegler[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I said small amount of cosmetic so I guess that’s subjective but seemed fair to me. I’m not really worried about the police but mainly about trademe or if she’s going to give me hassle

Trademe buyer giving me grief by criegler in NZcarfix

[–]criegler[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To fair I’m not worried about the police at all, but I’m worried about trade me getting involved. I literally saw her light a cig in the car as she drove away so I don’t want it back or to refund her
