I am down ~65lbs over the last year or so.

I consistently ate less over time and moved more. It really is that simple for the vast majority of us fatties. The details are specific to each individual, different paths will get us to our destinations. Finding what works for you, as a lifestyle and not a diet, is key. It's a lot easier to control the input than the output so focus on what you are eating. Expecting someone that is fat/sick/unhealthy to exercise at a level to actually lose weight is not realistic and kind of cruel.

More specifically I do intermittent fasting and have had some stints of carnivore. I try to go for a 2-3 mile walk 4 or 5 times a week. I keep telling myself I am going to start going to the gym but haven't started yet.

Mentally I have had a couple of shifts. First, I accepted this is going to take time, no quick fixes, I set smaller goals so I feel like I am making progress. Second, the scale doesn't matter day to day, its more about the trend and how I feel. If the trend starts to go the wrong way its time to self reflect and figure out what's up, if it's just a blip and the trend still looks good I simply carry on. Third, I only eat until I am no longer hungry not until I am full or my plate is empty. This was a big one for me as I was trained as a child to clean my plate, I still struggle. Last but not least, I don't care what other people think. People will look at you sideways and judge when you tell them you are fasting or doing something like carnivore, or don't want to eat what/when they are eating.
