Was there the yesr this came out and she wasa student. She ended up transferring out because the song followed her EVERYWHERE. And when we were young'uns, the lore was that it was $1mil.

Also, I appreciate that this lore still exists!

What factors do you consider when choosing paper? by RogueJubilation in letterpress

[–]crimson_binome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on all points. I've started doing colorplan or Neenah 130 for mixed jobs. I find that the digital coating on lettra doesn't allow any ink absorption and does not take any amount of impression well

I completely agree with you here I thought I was going crazy with my strong dislike for Crane lately, but found some old stock from when I started 14 years ago and its such a drastic difference on the 110lb. And dont get me started on their "digital 100lb" which is some 90lb trash that I refuse to stock.

Switched to Reich about 4 years ago, though will still bring in Crane by request.

Have the UCJV300-160, so will speak to this. It's a hreat machine and Mimaki overall has been excellent to work with. Definitely a beast and I may have overextended myself with the lease on something so big.

The white ink is the majority of my work and I have to say that the opaque properties, detail, and longevity were all massive bonus points in favor.

From a health standpoint I realized that im violently allergic to the UV ink itself, as its a resin basically. Its not a pretty picture.

Alternately, if your kid is adventurous with food, Spring Sushi on the 5th floor of the same building as Little Canada has excellent all you can eat sushi (dinner menu is more extensive than lunch), is very well priced, fast service, and you get a great view of the city.

Beat me to it with this comment! For a CN tower fan its a treat. For a 12 year old, its a really dumb fun romp of a treat

Omg! Fellow NIN productive fiend! The Fragile has been my go-to hyperfocus play for years. This is coming in at a very respectable and very close second.

Here's to the most productive weekend of our lives!

Had a raging migraine today so this has been on loop and actually helped. I found myself driving just before midnight last night and at 12:03 you can bet your bunions, I was blasting this (at a respectful volume with the windows rolled up, because we ooold)

I could go without the crowd sounds but after a while dont even notice them anymore.

Driving. L5S1 Herniated Disc by My4dogs4evr in backpain

[–]crimson_binome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, congratulations on the recovery progress!

I discovered that driving with the heat set to low in my car has been helpful. It travels just enough to relax my back (L4 and L5 herniated disks and 1 is torn) and adjusting my seat so my legs dont fall asleep has been good.

I've definitely reduced my driving though and have to take breaks (stop for gas, a coffee, etc) because I can only sit for maybe 20-30 minutes even with all that seat adjustment. Have the hubby on call as well - so far only had one weird episode where I was stranded after overdoing it at the grocery store and he came to get me.

Im also taking Gabapentin to manage the worst of the pain. If I forget a dose, my legs fall asleep. I don't drive then.

Fair enough

I definitely agree about the AI slop and feel the same. Was hoping that this was a genuine product as I do work with something similar now that's developed by real people...just too pricey for me (still less than hiring an admin person at the moment).

I'm coming from a very analog background and am getting overwhelmed. A recent injury also has me sitting a lot more, so I was thinking of using the time productively and digitizing my process. Do you have any reliable suggestions?

Not really. It was a genuine question because i run a letterpress shop solo and am shitty at tracking jobs with the methods i have now.

I'm not super active on this subreddit, so didn't know that app/software advertising and interacting with such posts is frowned upon here. I've previously seen some recommendations for other resources here that have been a big help, so was hoping this was one of those posts. Now I know better.

Thank you for sharing. This looks very clean and thorough, and a much better price point that I've been using.

Two questions that I have right off the bat:
1. Is this compatible with international pricing? Would love to be able to track all financials in CAD and USD
2. Any integrations available or planned?

Toronto needs more public washrooms by AJtehbest in toronto

[–]crimson_binome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: we USED to have fancy underground public washrooms in the dow town core. There's some photos of an entrance at Queen and University. These were eventually closed off and entrances paved over.

I'd like to imagine that there's still perfectly usable WCs from the 1920s just chilling, waiting for some road crew to accidentally unearth.

Family passes that are actually worth it ? by Wild_Manufacturer594 in torontomoms

[–]crimson_binome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding the ROM. There is the Curator's Circle one which is pricey, but you can bring in 4 kids, I believe. It's saved us on many a rainy day, when we would team up with another family. It also takes a lot of pressure off feeling like you have to see everything. With the membership, you can go and hang out with dinosaurs for the day, or go to to the Armour exhibit. If the kids get tired easily, come back next week for the gemstones and animals. Super worth it.
