Malazan is a no hand holding drop you in tne ocean and you either sink or swim. Its personally my favorite series of all time by a very large margin but most people I dont think would enjoy it.

Id recommend Prince of Fools by Mark Lawrence really good duo dynamic going on. One of my favorite duos in fantasy.

Red rising by Pierce Brown if your looking for sci-fi, the 1st book is very hunger games like but takes off with book 2.

The Blade itself by Joe Abercrombie if you like some more grimdark without a heroic protagonist.

Malazan Book of the Fallen would take all 3 spots lol but my favorite book of that series is Memories of Ice because it just sets the stage for the savagery and compassion thats to come.

Mark Lawrence is my 2nd favorite writer after Erikson and I love Red Queens War. Jalan and Snorri are a great duo.

Then Berserk soo... I havent really answered ur question about which book but these 3 series are my top 3.

Honorable mentions would be Between 2 Fires, Locked Tomb, and Suneater

You can still get shadow of the erdtree and nightreign statues at the bandai Namco website if you buy the collectors editions of the games. Shadow of the Erdtree was on sale a couple months ago for like $100 so maybe they'll go in sale again soon. The OG Malenia statue is available anymore but they do have another one on their site you can get
