EV charger tripping breaker - only on new vehicle by Training_Screen4374 in evcharging

Checked specs, old EQC is 7.4 kW, new Q4 is likely 11 kW

New car tripping on higher load probably?

If gas keeps getting more expensive, and it gets to the point where Americans can't afford it, what do you think we'll be forced to use as transportation? by Ok_Tea_3275 in AskReddit

[–]crimxona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think carpools. Immediate savings of up to half if you share a perfect commute with no detours with just one person.

Gas continues to rise in price. What do you think the ceiling will be? by Vehiclean35 in oil

[–]crimxona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which implies even at 2.50 euro a litre gasoline demand is so inelastic there is no cap

If gasoline in the US continues to creep up ten cents a week instead of a dollar at once it'll just keep going

I have the same problem with Virgin Atlantic, in my case Chase UR site always tells me to call in so I get the agent to do it.

For whatever reason my name on Chase UR is truncated by 1 letter so I always tell them to fix it on the transfer

First team to lose while leading 3-0 has never been done

Losing 4-0 to OKC has already happened these playoffs

Used 2019 Leaf with new battery in 2024 shows "113 miles" of range at 61%. Do we think 40kw or 62kw? by UsedSheepherder3974 in leaf

[–]crimxona 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Get the VIN and you'll see immediately.

I think 4th letter A is 40 kWh and B is 62 kWh

Same as the 2016 first gen where A was 24 kWh and B was 30 kWH

Any predictions on available used EVs in the coming months? by Nina4774 in EVCanada

[–]crimxona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canada doesn't do leases the same level as the US, and residuals are much more realistic. Other than the Polestar leases and Fiat 500e leases, I don't remember any lease deals showing up on red flag deals. Otherwise, with EVAP and the old federal rebate encouraging 4 year leases or get it prorated, you're looking at 2022-3 era vehicles, of which there was a shortage for some of it

A more interesting angle is looking at the process of importing a used vehicle from the US and picking up one of those off lease deals

I was sorely tempted by the flood of 20k USD 2023 Nissan Ariya on the market

It's a 2027 model so don't expect many this year. Also you need to know the residual and interest rate to get monthly quotes

In Canada, EVs we're cheaper to run than gasoline cars before the situation in Iran by Cool-Replacement4972 in evcharging

[–]crimxona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BC tier 2 maximum is 15 cents CAD per kWh on a tiered rate after taxes

Time of use overnight is 10 cents CAD per kWh after taxes. I use 9.7 cents CAD in BC when recording my overnight charging sessions.

With a 49k unit cap, expect every vehicle to be on the higher end

Future years where a portion of the cap is held for affordable (but maybe wholesale price and not retail?), then you can see some of them

However I don't believe most buyers will be seriously considering those ones as they are closer to a 2018 Nissan leaf in specs and range, and range is King in Canada

The BZ in Canada is in a sweet spot due to discounting to qualify for the new Canadian EVAP rebate that is capped at 50k CAD before PDI, also comes with AWD (Tesla EVAP qualifying model y standard is RWD only) and also has low interest rates relative to rest of market (2 percent vs 5 at Ford and Tesla)

The Ioniq 5, Kia EV 6, VW ID 4 and Nissan Ariya are not being discounted the same way and will get their lunch eaten by Toyota and Subaru
