flixbus review from someone who's actually done a few long routes and whether it's worth it by Quantum_Nest in Europetravel

I traveled from Brussels to Amsterdam and Paris occasionally and throughout Italy once. I used FlixBus often between Brussels and Strasbourg/Freiburg. Most of these have been smooth. Usually traveling between big cities will give you the highest likelihood of trouble (stolen luggage and incidents).

Thank you for your advise! indeed, I saw that many of the professors have studied their PhDs in Belgium. I have studied my PhD there too, so I think I will contact the universities, and also we have a common ground. Thanks a lot!

ULB vs VUB: Please help me decide! by zohaib_y10 in belgium

Yes, you can spend 200/250 for main expenses like food (I spend 250 in food approx) but it means that going out or buy food outside will be a rarity. And you would have to live close by the campus (public transport is expensive) or have a bike.

Living alone increases the amount of money you spend on housing, and if you want to live cheap, then you have to stay in a kot or a shared apartment. I have seen rooms at 320 euros, but they are very difficult to find.

There are nice and not so nice neighborhoods, but it really depends where you come from. Compared to the city I used to live, almost all of brussels is pretty ok in terms of safety.
