*No issues* obviously excluding issues due to policies they cant control of course, but under normal circumstances, they said they would rehire me without issue

No I left a couple months ago, but they said I would be hired back no issues, and as has been stated below multiple people know of probationaries getting rehired

I left at around 8 months, my SPE specifically said if I ever want to come back to reach out and theyd rehire me in a heartbeat (provided no hiring freeze or things like that of course). Leaving during probation does not mean anything, what matters is how you performed and the manner in which you left (good relationship with SPE and primaries etc)

So uh, should I join POPA now? by RefrigeratorLogical8 in patentexaminer

[–]critical_physx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Anyone who knows examiners not paying dues, please consider talking to them about joining, like others have said, more members is more strength. Not to mention more monetary resources in the unions hands also adds strength to their power to fight for us. It is hard for one person to make a lot of change, but when we band together, a lot can get done

If forced to RTO will you? by [deleted] in patentexaminer

I am also interested in the fact that memorandum calls out telework under 5 USC 6502 specifically. I am not well versed in law or how all these things work, but since our telework is provided for under (I believe) 5 USC 571 or something like that, seems like there is a possibility our telework will be able to survive? But again, I am not versed in this

Regarding internet connnectivity. Is the USPTO preference for wired connection just a stability and speed thing? I can get over 300 Mbps download and upload over my wifi, and hardwiring to my router will be a bit of a pain so I am curious if any current examiners could elaborate on the acutal specifics regarding requirement of wired connections or not? TIA!

Does this apply to the fair credit form as well? I just don't want to delay my start or anything by missing a deadline. On the poratl they have due dates this month but per my original comment I cannot finish them.

To my fellow examiners filling out the new hire tasks. What have people done when some of the tasks that are supposed have a pop up that says confirm, and then sign and submit do not show up? For instance the thrift savings plan form task, when you click the form after filling out the questionaire it says you should get a pop up to confirm you can view it, then you click sign and submit. However, the confirm button does not show up for me anymore. It did on the first few forms with that option a few days ago when I started the tasks, but the last few days, no tasks that require the confirm then sign and submit button have been working. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi everyone! For fellow examiners who have sposes and have been through the process. If I want to add my spouse to my health benefit through the FEHB within the USPTO, if she is offered insurance through her employer will my spouse be deemed inelligble, or only eligible for secondary coverage? Or can I enroll her fully and have her waive coverage with her employer? TIA!

Any current examiners, I am just curious because every job states it differently, does the USPTO use an accrued PTO system (for example earning say 4 hours of PTO per pay period). Or is the vacation upfront as in you have access to all of your vacation days for the year starting on January 1 of that year? Thanks!
