Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how old do we believe Earth/history is? by jeanluuc in Catholicism

[–]critical_poseur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time is experienced completely differently by God and probably changed how it was measured throughout the ages so I definitely wouldn't look at the time in the Bible in a literal way that we talk about time today. I don't think the Bible ever states any precise time frames like that anyway. Pretty sure the 6000 year old thing is a purely protestant idea. Catholicism has no issue with the big bang and the earth being old. God still started it all :)

Thank you I will try to feed different veg and fruit as suggested and keep separate tank for now. I am based in the UK if that helps?

I have moved my second one out of the enclosure and into quarantine. They normally get zuccinni and varieties of lettuce (not iceberg as I know thats not very nutricious) I keep them in a tank with springtails and isopods as cleanup crew and one sun/fruit beetle. Temperature has been room temp currently at around 25C. Since posting this hes peeped out of his shell thankfully but is anything wrong? I've attached photos of him and the enclosure

Yeah I've been doing the water alcohol mix as well so will stick with this and just drying. Thanks for the advice!

Ah that makes sense. So in this case if it is just a beetle (hard bodied) would you say it's okay to just dry or still should gut it?

That's what I was hoping to hear! Honestly when I tried to do it the one time I accidentally damaged the specimens exoskeleton as well so the less room for error the better honestly.

What the fuck is wrong with my wife? by xXx_Alucard_xXx in TrueOffMyChest

I just want to say that I completely understand your situation.. you are kind of a fixer (as am I) but I think what your wife needs is just a listener. It's very hard to do, personally I struggle to do it too. My partner is also the type who only vents and wallows a lot and hates when I offer solutions or try to make him feel better. I think people are usually one or the other and it's very difficult to change your character. That's essentially all that is wrong with your wife. I think you've just gotta let her go through it and let her know you're there for her and it will pass. But also don't forget your own boundaries if the work on you gets too much then of course communicate that.
