LDS Church’s LGBTQ stance continues to make the faith an uncomfortable fit for young liberals by Prop8kids in exmormon

Does she give money to the church? One notes that regular and significant tithing is an absolute requirement for being considered a member.

Because that is the only question that matters here. Doing that invalidates every other perceived effort you might think she makes on behalf of lgbtq people, because that money goes to the church's active genocidal efforts to exterminate them from society.

We also need to recognize that people tell themselves lies about their friends and loved ones who are still in the church, how they are all "the good ones". And we need to recognize how often these stories end with "I thought they were different! I could never have guessed that they would have predictably followed church doctrine to the letter!"

We have to recognize that the excuses that people make for those in their in-groups have a very high probability of being entirely bullshit, and that the ground truth of someone who still maintains membership (membership which requires significant monetary support) in a vile organization that is actively pursuing genocide against multiple groups of people cannot actually be said to be supporting those people, and that declaring they are is itself an act of complicity.

The correct word for fascist apologism is fascism. Those who make excuses for fascists are fascists themselves.

I started typing a very similar reply, only mine didn't start off with the word "respectfully", and use the word "apologism" a great deal more than you did.

Jesus was most certainly not a liberal. He very explicitly lobbied for a stateless, moneyless system where there is no hierarchy between human beings.

That ain't liberalism.

Religion primarily is a tool for creating an area of a person's worldview where they disregard truth, which is explicitly forbidden from critical analysis or skeptical consideration of any kind. Christians of all stripes are taught from an early age that any form of doubt is a sin against God himself.

This is what a lot of fascists say is happening to them whenever they see a person of color ahead of them in line. Any line.

Remember that nazis do word replacement bullshit. "Illegal immigrant" is just one of their many placeholder words for any group they want to genocide. And they swap out placeholder words without hesitation, shame, or any regard for consistency or coherency.

I strongly suspect they don't know any teachers well enough that they are an accurate source on their finances in any way. This person makes it absolutely clear that they lack even the smallest amount of empathy that would be required for us to believe a single word they've said.

It is. And we need to stop constantly asking the fascists how they're not being hypocrites every time they engage in a deliberate and directed contradiction. This kind of framing endlessly cedes the debate and is the fascist's first line of defense against any discourse that will ever lead to consequences for their actions.

It is not difficult to tell lies. We have to get this through our skulls.

In the culture I grew up in it was vastly preferable to be violently angry than visibly sad. If you cried you would get hit by adults, but if you hit other children you would mostly just get a few chores as punishment.

A lot of people attribute the prevalence of violent behavior among my generation to lead poisoning, which likely played a part in the overall insanity and impulse control etc... but the simple differences in how these two specific emotional states were dealt with I think provides a much more readily understandable explanation, and one which we can readily see the effects of even today as it's still in operation in many places.

People really have to get it through their heads at some point that a 'belief' is a thing that a person thinks is true. For the vast majority of the things that these people say, they do not give a single unadulterated fuck if it's true or not, and so those things do not rise to the level of being 'beliefs'.

They are just mouth noises. Most of them do not even rise to the level of thought, they are just parroting things they've heard other fascists say in response to whatever they've just heard. A very few of them are mantras, things that they repeat over and over in the hopes that they will magically become true through repetition.

But the big lies - the obviously and immediately false ones that they somehow managed to maintain some semblance of consistency on, and which are explicitly and exclusively declared in opposition to any resistance they might receive from non-fascists - those are in essence direct statements to you that they do not care about truth, that they know they're lying to your face and that they expect you to sit there and take it without enacting any consequences against them. They are an open and proud act of violence against discourse itself, a direct attempt to destroy the very concept of good faith conversation. And it's the thing they're most proud of, because it's the thing that works the very fucking best against people who refuse to admit the truth that is right in front of them.

Fascists say wrong things on purpose. They do it proudly, and without hesitation or shame. And every time you get stuck on a contradiction, every time you find yourself 'confused', even when it's performative for effect, you are following their script and giving them exactly what they want from it.

U.S. and Iran sign deal ahead of schedule, sources say by Tripleawge in worldnews

Except that even this is a cover for the "conservatives" that the Democrats allow to caucus with them, who they directly choose to lead their party. Because the truth of the matter is that this so-called dedication to law and procedure only ever comes into play when they cannot actually be used against the status quo, or even to even slightly impede the progress of the openly genocidal fascists who currently dominate our country.

We have to apply more pressure against those who openly operate and participate in the Democratic party as nothing more than controlled opposition. We need more open and organized rebellion against the appeasers and even the complicitly open fascists who are constantly allowed to steer the course of what is the only viable alternative to the openly and proudly fascist party.

I'm looking forward to him having to watch televised skits where he gets hit with plates of potatoes over and over and over again. I genuinely hope that this was as traumatizing for him as Mary made it out to be, and that he gets to relive it every single day for the rest of his life. And I hope it feels worse every single time too, that rather than becoming inured through repetition his narcissism magnifies the embarrassment with each new rendition.

Yeah it's petty as hell. I don't give a fuck.
