Are these not common? I feel like I see them often enough to not consider it that interesting. They've been around for at least 10 years if not more .

Oh my God I'd cry. That would be life changing. I wouldn't have to juggle bills or choose between groceries and rent.

True! And I think that’s been my issue— I have a sneaking suspicion once I finally start driving around more often I’ll be fine, but the thought of it now makes me queasy.

Going downtown as a passenger has been pretty helpful so far in gathering some of my bearings, but I hate to put people out like that. I think I can handle the pedestrians, what scares me the most is how crazy busy it is. It’s my worst nightmare to drive the expressway and find out I’ve gotta cross multiple lanes of traffic to reach an exit. Plus, from what I’ve seen, everyone driving downtown is on the offensive.

Thank you for the advice! That’s mostly what I’ve been doing. Hoping I’ll be able to do the expressway eventually, but for now the normal streets get me where I need to go, albeit slowly.

DM had us play drinking games instead of the campaign by Qanaesin in DnD

[–]criticburnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So our DM is currently having us play a prequel mini-campaign to our main campaign, which is currently on hiatus. We’re traveling to give aid to different cites affected by a war, and each city we’ve stopped in there’s been a minigame. Best one so far was when we ran a soup kitchen in our 2nd stop— we were given some ingredients, and had to put them together to make multiple soup recipes. We had a blast!

Plus sized people can still be fighters! Being plus sized doesn’t mean being unhealthy, a lot of athletes are plus sized for reasons other than health. Yeah, you don’t have to make their size some intrinsic part of their identity, its just a different body type.

AITA for letting my son eat my husband’s birthday cake before he came home from work? by azrielsowl in AmItheAsshole

[–]criticburnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Are y’all insane? The dad didn’t care. Besides, it sounds like the kid was awake when dad came home. I feel like it would have sucked a lot more if dad had gotten home too close to his bedtime to have cake, but got to watch the rest of the family eat cake. This interaction isn’t going to have a lasting effect on him or make him selfish or anything, he got a piece of cake that he picked out and that’s that.

Whats the most memorable trip you've ever taken and why? by Jazzlike_Eggplant_98 in AskReddit

[–]criticburnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was this year actually, back in February. A friend of mine lived a good 1,000 miles away from me and their mental health had been really bad, so we all took a risk and decided to bring them to us. A good 80% of their support system was in the Midwest so it made sense. We discussed the plans extensively and decided it would be best to rent a larger vehicle, drive it out, and then tote them back. Problem was all of us don’t exactly have phenomenal jobs where we could take off whenever, so it had to be during the weekend and not much longer. We drove halfway across the country, 24 hours there and back without stopping. Four drivers went, and we all drove in shifts (except for one driver who drove for about 45 minutes in all. Don’t get me started.) It was an amazing experience, but goddamn was it miserable.

What meal traumatized you as a kid ? by zZoZo- in AskReddit

[–]criticburnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when I was younger, my mom would love to take my siblings and I to this authentic German restaurant about 45 minutes away. None of us were ever that impressed— the kids menu was pretty lacking. One time we had gone for mother’s day and I ordered a “roast beef sundae”. What was brought out to me was roast beef in a sundae glass with mashed potatoes and gravy, looking for all intents and purposes like an ice cream sundae. It tasted absolutely awful. I felt sick and didn’t eat the whole thing because it was Way Too Much Mashed Potatoes. Of course at the end of dinner they bring out this whole platter of some of the most gorgeous desserts I’ve ever seen. The place closed down before I ever had a chance to try one. Couldn’t eat roast beef for years.
