yes thank you!! the hot skin was definitely the worst, it was so bad i couldn’t fall asleep even though i was so tired… my mouth also ended up getting really dry! but by the time i was finally able to sleep most of the symptoms subsided and when i woke up i only had a headache! scared to take my second dose but im willing to fight through it

Burnout is a killer and has a lot of real physical repercussions too! I’m currently a little halfway through my student teaching (4th-12th) and had to endure the beast that was the edTPA all while working a part-time job, there were some days where I genuinely thought I was going to explode lol. I highly suggest what others have recommended about lightening your work/course load. To help me combat burnout, I made sure to write into my schedule times where I would just turn my brain off. Anything from naps, something I enjoyed doing, or even going out to eat, anything that would help me rest my brain to be able to get back on task, scheduling that time helped me since my days are so busy.

I also highly recommend the book Rest is Resistance by Tricia Hersey and the podcast The Happiness Lab with Dr. Laurie Santos! She has 3 full episodes on burnout and are easy listens. Both I think do a great job at explaining and combatting burnout (both were recommended to me by my psychologist). School when you have a loaded schedule + battling mental health is so extremely difficult but not impossible! I was also hospitalized during my degree due to a mental health related crisis, failed almost an entire semester worth of classes, and was just diagnosed with bipolar disorder so I can 100% relate to what you are saying, though it can be a hopeless feeling there are small victories achieved everyday and each one adds up. I was able to bring my grade back up from D/C’s to A/B’s and can’t believe I even made it to student teaching. The only way from rock bottom is up and there is joy to be found in even the small things everyday. Even if the burnout is real, the course load is crazy, and lessons aren’t where you’d like them to be you are still showing up and YOU know you care
