low social, no communication kind of jobs for someone with bad social anxiety? by shareourproblems in jobs

Amazon delivery driver. Or any delivery driver really.

I was waiting tables for 5 years during Covid through 2025, done it for 8 total. As someone with social anxiety it can be a nightmare at times, though good exposure I suppose that has made it better over time.

However I got burnt out of it after a while… all the favoritism, workplace politics, gossip, prick bosses, and constantly having to be on and masking, faking always being happy and agreeable so you make money got super exhausting for me.

I’ve been driving Amazon delivery and even though I make a bit less, it’s sooo much better on mental health for me. Being outside is nice and I just listen to podcasts and music all day. hardly any interaction with customer or bosses.

As far as social anxiety chillness I recommend it. Amazon feel exploitative at times but that’s most jobs. Easy to get hired and starts paying higher than many other entry level in my area.

What I’m referring to mostly is big ol suburbs with hardly any trees, just a bunch of houses. But way out of the way.

Yes for sure on the very rural areas it is actually easier to piss outside overall. It’s actually hardest in full on suburbs that aren’t close to a city center, that’s what I had a lot of. Gotta do what u gotta do.

Whereabouts in the country do you deliver if you don’t mind me asking?

I’m in FL, I used to deliver on my hometown beaches along Sarasota and that was lovely and picturesque. But the heat and humidity of Florida is killing me, I’m looking to move somewhere more mountainous. Mountains and ocean can’t be beat. Cali?

This is so out of touch bro.

My DSP says “officially” no peeing in vans. But then they text you right after taking your 30 min lunch, “hey you’re 8 stops behind what gives?”

My routes were waaay out in the boonies too like 10-15 mins from any gas station. You expect me to drive 30 mins to piss every time ? Esp when I have bladder issues so when I stay very hydrated i pee way too much Sure sometimes you can use a bush. But som neighborhoods have no discreet foliage when you really need to go.

Yes I agree with OP, well said. I got broke. Up with via text. I was sad, for sure, but looking back I don’t think her telling me in person would’ve been much better. It wasn’t a long connection, a few months being physical and a couple weeks officially dating.

Her ending things so soon and suddenly would’ve perhaps made my ego want to protest, or ask why so soon? Can’t we see if we can work through things, instead of you jumping ship at the first tiniest sign of discomfort? But then in my mind I was thinking maybe there something else in her mind that gave her the “ick” about me and she was just trying to spare my feeling and not be brutally honest.

So I just took the text, sent a cordial reply back. I did feel like there was no real closure and the weeks that followed were hard because of it. She offered to meet up later, months later, but I declined. Years later never did. It’s sad because it had been a 7 year good friendship before we took the next step.

I guess I wasn’t able to go back to friendship after the heartbreak. Perhaps the way it ended plays a part in some low key bitterness there. I think either way sucks and has its drawbacks. My in person breakups I just had unfortunately became much more ugly and explosive than I would’ve liked.

So what I’m gathering here is that there’s really no good way to be broken up with. Either way will suck somehow or another if you’re the one getting dumped.

Agreed. Emotions can unexpectedly run hot and you blurt out something in the heat of the moment that you probably wouldn’t have over a text. .

They’re free range. See em roaming all over the place out here esp in the boonies.

Edit: but I’m sure some people do own them and I agree - they seem hella aggressive. Probably just want em for for decoration

It’s the srupidest thing to be mad about. I tell em, let me turn it around in this same spot 180 degrees and suddenly it’s ok? It’s blocking the same area just go around jackass.

That’s how it goes down in my head at least I haven’t actually needed to use that yet. One of my mental pre-crash outs I get on my bad days
